At this stage Haymon kind of has no choice but to maintain a working relationship with GBP and certain other promoters. He doesnt have a license to promote fights and neither does Shaefer or Floyd. Nor can he obtain a license to promote due to violation of the Ali act being that you cant promote a fighter with whom you manage. Shaefer has some sort of stipulation in his contract with GBP which prevents him from becoming a rival promotional entity as well. If anyone is going to become a full fledge promoter it's going to have to be Floyd which brings up an interesting question. If Gomez is stating that GBP and Haymon have a good working relationship and will continue to do business with one another, why did Floyd jump ship once Shaefer left?

While duh, of course he has no choice but to work with a boxing promoter, he's not one. However he would not suffer if he left Golden Boy as there are other promoters out there.

Mayweather Promotion is nothing but an LLC and no one takes them seriously. Al would be fine without Golden Boy and they way I see it, while they both need each other, they would both survive without each other also.

I dont think Haymon can do much until Schaeffers no compete clause ends.

This article doesnt really tell us much. This is Gomez's opinion on the subject. Things are no more clear than they were last week.

Immediately following Schaefer’s departure, the industry focus quickly shifted to Golden Boy’s relationship with powerful manager and adviser Al Haymon.

The vast majority of Haymon’s voluminous stable is being promoted under Golden Boy’s banner. Some of those fighters have promotional agreements with Golden Boy and some of them are not under contract. [Click Here To Read More]

Well many ignorant posters here believe that fighters managed by Haymon are no longer going to be promoted by GBP. They dont seem to understand that Haymon is just an advisor/manager that needs a licensed promoter to showcase his fighters fights.
