okay first up Mikeystlasvegas22 press that damn caps locks key man u dont need to type everything in caps

2nd off pbf is a far better boxer than gatti

3rd i dont think many people want cotto at the moment, they all know he has mad skills but will it be a big money fight? thats the main worry when taking on fights like cotto where you could easily lose, yeah pbf has an attitude but thats all part of being a boxer, i know u can have a bit of modesty but if u think urself as the best you want to stay that way and prove it to anyone who doubts you so you constantly have that determination...
either way pbf will beat gatti, probs a ko/tko about 9/10 imo

I don't think he has the power to take Gatti out, it would be a UD

The big fights will happen eventually...obviously there's a lot of BS going on right now but it's also a bit of a confusing time in the division. You have an aging superstar (Kostya), a big name warrior with limited skills (Gatti), a bunch of fading old guys (Sharmba, for one), a guy who might be good but who's never really been tested (Hatton), and a bunch of young guys eager for big fights. Mayweather's a wildcard because he just stepped up. Usually big name fighters will wait to take on young guys until they can generate big money, or else they pick off the pretenders until the real deals have built themselves up enough. With so many young hotshots with big potential though it's though for the big names to know who to pick.

In a year or two things should hopefully start to pick up, and we'll get the fights we want.

I salute every boxing fan on this site just for choosing the greatest sport to follow. As someone once told me "there are alot of things in boxing just like life, but there is nothing in life just like boxing." Boxing captures the very essence of mankind like no other sport. It has no rivals. However, there is one thing, after many years of observing this sport, that I can say with 100 % accuracy. No Matter how great you, or the experts, perceive a fighter, he can and WILL get beat. I remember when KO magazine picked Wilfredo Gomez as the lb. 4 lb. champ right before Salvador Sanchez dismantled him, People talk about how great Sanchez was, but few realize that he wasn't given due respect until he beat Gomez, alot of this talk of being great is mainly after the fact. I remember Donald CUrry was the next big thing: Boom, he's done. Edwin Rosario, knocked out, Jose 'the threat' barret, knocked out; John Tate, Iced by Mike Weaver; Vladimir Klitshcko, exposed; Roy Jones Jr. was eventually beat, Foreman was stopped By Ali, DeJesus upset Duran. If you've been a boxing fan for a short time then you probably are still too in awe of the fighters, and actuallly believe some of the hype. However, if you've been watching this game for awhile, then you know, that every fighter out there will get beat, doesn't mean he isn't great, quite the opposite, like said before, "a fighter can only be great once he's been beat, it's what he does after defeat that defines his greatness" So yes Mayfield can, and one day will, be beat, that is a fact, but what he does after that defeat will truly define how great he is. Remember, there is always someone out there whose bigger badder, stronger. jUst because a can beat b, and b can beat c, doesn't mean that a can beat c. Mark my word, Mayweather will lose,(although that may seem as absurd as saying Jones Jr. will lose) but if he's truly great, then we will see his masterpiece after the loss, much like we saw Ali's painting of Foreman, and Holyfield's masterpiece performance of Tyson.

I'd take Cotto to beat Mayweather. I wonder how Mayweather would react to a guy who hits harder, is quick, throws to the body as well as anyone, cuts the ring off well, has a huge left hook, and can counter punch very well. I think it'd actually be a chess match for awhile as both guys are very patient. It'd be a great fight. If Mayweather won I think it'd be a close decision and Mayweather may have to get off the canvas.

Anybody else think Hatton/Mayweather would kind of look like Toney/Jirov?

Mayweather is much smarter than any of Cottos oppenents to date. If pinto gave him trouble early Floyd will give him hell. Cotto will adapt and it should make for a terrific fight.
