people really need to calm down on the Rigondeaux talk. Rigo isn't a featherweight and unless I missed something (which might be the case) Rigo isn't open to fighting a featherweight at the full 126

WBO/WBA super bantamweight Guillermo "The Jackal" Rigondeaux (12-0, 8KOs) is looking for big opportunities after his impressive decision victory over Nonito Don

basically his team said he would be giving up too many advantages at 126 but is open to fighting a top featherweight at a catchweight of 124.

as for Lomo, I think Nonito would be the best fight. Nonito struggles against anybody who can take away his left hook. even Darchinyan was outboxing him, seriously Vic Darchinyan out boxing anybody is pretty amazing.

Nonito would have a punchers chance but that's about it. he is a bigger name then Walters and probably about equal risk.

Good for him they should do a Donaire clash although Donaire probably already planning to move up since he probably already heard the rumors that caribe said Rigo might go to featherweight if nobody wants to face him at 122.

He won't? He only fought 3 times in pros and He's already a world champion. He already surpassed Rigo

Its all a matter of opinion. To me, it seems like the whole Floyd-Manny soap opera over the last 4-5yrs has a lotta casual fight fans into somewhat hardcore followers of the sport, which is a good thing. But its those fans don't have an appreciation for all the different styles of fighting. I've been following boxing closely for about two decades. And I've found that no matter how awful a style is to watch. When a guy is clearly the standard bearer at or around his division. Most hardcore fans wanna see the best at or around his division test themselves against him. Which has been the case with guys like Sweet Pea and Hopkins. More recently Floyd. And now you have guys like Ward and Rigo. And a lot of the newer hardcore followers are too wrapped up in crossover appeal. Unless you're talking about Floyd and Manny. And on a smaller scale Cotto and Canelo. Most casual fans aren't familiar with any of the guys. Whether it be a fan friendly guy like Mares. Or a "boring" technician like Rigo. Anyone Arum could match Rigo with. It's mostly gonna be hardcore fans that are interested anyway. So on that level, Arum not wanting to match his guys with Rigo has very little to do with money and more to do with not getting his guys exposed as less than the best at or around the featherweight division.

Lomachenko didn't win the fight Saturday night because he is so good. He won because Russell Jr. is so bad. The fact that Russell Jr. couldn't land 10 punches in any round tells me that he was never that good to begin with. If Lomachenko fights any of the other champions in the division, he will likely lose.

Top Rank knows this and is already starting to use the excuse that every promoter that wants to avoid putting a fighter in with a tough opponent uses -- the nobody is willing to fight him excuse. This is the same excuse that Richard Schafer used to protect Keith Thurman and Saul Alvarez. In his next three fights, the only fighters who will be willing to fight Lomachenko will be journeymen or washed up former champions.

He didn't stick with Rigo. He had a contract to fullfill and thought he could be used as fodder for Nonito Donaire. You heard what Arum has said about Rigo since he beat Donaire. Don't make it sound like Arum was doing him any kind of favors.

Dont waste my time dumba$$. Cordoba was years before Donaire, who wasnt even at 122. They got him a full title shot vs inept Haymon client Ramos, ppv undercard slot vs Marroquin, then got respected top tenner Poonsawat to come over on short notice as warmup for Donaire.

yah but salido is by far better than anyone rigo has fought.

plus salido was 147lbs on fight night and was fouling like a mad man.
