I obviously enjoyed the fight but I think Guerrero should have boxed more. Kamegai is a very limited fighter, not even a Top 15 contender really. It should have been a much easier fight for him, but he fought Kamegai's fight and ended up in a war with a swollen shut left eye. Guerrero is not a very good slugger and if Kamegai was just slightly better technically, he would have won that fight in my opinion. As I said before, that's exactly how Salido dominated Guerrero at 126.
Respect to Kamegai for a very Arakaw-esque performance. He showed a huge heart in there. He should be back on TV soon. He will always be involved in very exciting fights if he is matched with sluggers but if you put him with a good boxer who can move, he will get thoroughly outboxed.

I think this fight was better than the Figueroa vs. Arakawa match last year because it was a much more closer fight. I truly think it should have been a draw.

That guy loves in-fighting. It's his preferred style in many of his fights. They just haven't seen him fight much.
I think it's you guys who haven't seen him fight much besides his welterweight bouts. Nobody is saying Guerrero was some master boxer, but this new make-it-a-dog-fight style wasn't how he fought in the lower weights. You don't even have to go to far back to see this, see his last lightweight fight against Katsidis for an example.Last edited by _original_; 06-22-2014, 12:56 AM.

Props to both, real warriors.
On the other hand, Guerrero can't even box with a slow, stationary brawler no wonder he got cherry picked.
Kamegai, they shouldn't allow him to fight. Takes too much abuse very little boxing skills. Poor guy.
