That is guerrero's style, he's good at that, the only reason in some fights he seemed to box is because his opponent doesn't oblige him to fight a phone booth style, kamegai obliged him tonight so that's what happened.

That's why fighting against boxers with good movement will cause tremendous trouble for him, he needs to be set up properly to mount his punches, if you turn him around, he's practically lost, that's how it is. He's not going to adjust to this, his at the end of his career and this is also why he is never going to pass class b status, that's as high as he could get. Right now, he looks class c in that fight.

You don't even have to go to far back to see this, see his last lightweight fight against Katsidis for an example.
He's a good boxer, those combos he was throwing while turning Kamagai were great, everytime he did it he was landing like 3-4 punch combos at ease, and kept turning him. His problem is that if he gets caught, he will want to get you back, even if it means abandoning his gameplan. But thats one thing I like when watching Guerrero.

          Great fight tonight.

Even in his losses (with the exception of Mayweather), he lost to guys who beat him at his own in-fighting game.

When Diaz beat him up, same thing. When Salido beat him up, same thing. When Yordan (the other Asian) beat him up before he got saved by a NC, same thing.
You exaggerate the Yordan situation, that fight went like 2 rounds and it was close he certainly wasn't beating anyone up

"I feel into that ****ing again, and that's something I've got to work on," Guerrero said, his damaged eye concealed behind sunglasses. "I wanted to box on the outside, but I have a habit of ****ing away and exchanging."

Close? Yordan won the first two rounds, and Guerrero got a lucky bail out pass cause of the cut. Saying he cannot see. It was so convenient.

But that's all besides the point. The point is that Guerrero habitually dogfights. He is a career dog fighter, not a boxer.

No he did not clearly win the first two rounds that fight was ugly and sloppy, and even if he edged the first two rounds that is not beating Guerrero's ass. The only thing to glean from that fight was that it was going to be ugly and sloppy foul fest, that Guerrero more than likely would have ended up winning the fight being in his hometown and all.

At his best he does both mixing it up and using his boxing ability.
