All the news and articles that's been written about Haymon are verified in this Guerrero card, that is overpaying his fighters for fighting inferior opponents. Then when such fighters are asked to fight high risk opponents, they price themselves out to the point of the fight not getting made. As generally acknowledged, Haymon did it before with HBO and now with SHO.

Seems to me that this Haymon guy is only interested in doing short-term business and has done damage to this sport.

Lol why are people blaming haymon. How many of those guys are with haymon and how many of them are getting over paid?

There are a group of posters that are complaining haymon is getting his fighters too much while not complaining that the managers of their favorite Hbo fighter isn't getting them enough. It sort of makes it clear what their real problem is.

I wonder if on their jobs they complain if their manager tries to get them a raise?

Now I understand why Guerrero didn't fight Thurman and it makes perfect sense from a fighter's perspective. He's getting 1 million to fight Kamegai and then he can make another million fighting Thurman or another top contender. If he fought Thurman now, he would still make a million (or a little more) but would probably lose and his next fight he would only make about 200,000. If you're already guaranteed a million to fight anyone, why would someone fight a serious threat for just about the same amount of money. He has to fight a legit fighter next though.

Obviously, from a fans perspective, this fight isn't up to par. He should've had to fight a certain level of competition to get the million guarantee. I think Guerrero will fight a tougher opponent next. I'm skeptical that it will be Thurman though maybe Khan or Devon.

He always would've made less than Blades though. He's now making 12000 because he has to pay Blades 1500 and the commission 1500. I don't think there's anyway to justify him making less than Blades. Supposedly, the contracted weight was 179 but who knows when that was written or rewritten.

That's the thing though, I'm a fan and can can only give u a fans opinion. Idc to see get a soft touch in his next fight. I wanna see the best fights possible. It's smart for him to go about it he way he did, I agree but I rather see him fight a top fighter.

How can you blame Guerrero for this? Why fight high-risk Thurman when you can get $1 million for fighting an unknown, low risk opponent?

Maidana only got $1.5 million for fighting the PPV queen. Talk about fake lottery.
