That is the issue with guys that are easy to hit, if you start falling in love with hitting them they will likely get back at you because they are used to getting hit. Same thing kind of happened to Alexander although to a much lesser degree.
Guerrero didn't get ****** into anything. He does this **** ALL the time, for many, I mean many, of his fights. Did he get ****** into the exact same thing with Andre Berto? Did he get ****** into the same thing with Selcuk Aydin?

It just turned out that this guy was better at in-fighting than both Berto and Aydin.

Yea he did get ****** in, because he was having success nailing Kamegai. He was having success against Berto and Aydin also so yea you could say that. So a bit less than 10% of his fights we got more than 90% more to discuss.

Guerrero can box and keep range, he is pretty versatile, he hasn't boxed much recently sure, but 135 and below he boxed a bunch his offense was still activity based but he was mobile.

They both hypnotised when the other guy throws so activity will play a big role in this fight. Loma didnt throw enough vs Siri but he has learnt from his mistake.

Opening rounds will be exciting with both trying to assert themselves. Loma will dominate the late stages of the fight. Gary will tire and doesnt move enough and doesnt have great defense - he is open for the left hand from loma.

Judging by the weigh-in and interviews, Loma is more confident despite coming off a loss.

I KNEW! As soon as Russell starting saying what he'd do to Lomachenko, I could bet on him losing ! Hand speed, if he does this, its over...often times this means that a fighter is TOO concerned about his opponent! It meant that Lomachenka had half the fight won before he even stepped into the ring! He didn't even have to win the stare down !

This is a post that is indicative of a much larger problem in boxing today. What is happening with these young guys, though in Loma's case it's sort of understandable, is that when they get into the pros, they are get walked slowly along avoiding every risk, or they get put in fights that suit them.

What we end up seeing is guys that are talented, but have massive flaws that are easily fixed. Loma is understandable because he's only had about 8 fights, but he is 26 or something. He's in his prime.

They get protected to the point that when they face a higher level, they often haven't seen certain things and thus can't deal with obvious characteristics that once would have been a simple, regular part of the game.

Not being able to use your speed is a classic sign of it. Not enough good trainers out there to teach him how to use it properly, but also not enough experience with different opposition, of styles and levels etc.

Loma has to learn to be more consistent. But, this is a very classic sign of someone in the amateurs for too long and struggling to make the transition. They struggle with consistency and struggle with an aggressive opponent. Really typical sign of an amateur style still. He's got to get rid of those traits. Learn to throw consistently, yet still be able to pick it up when needed, and not go into amateur hour when faced with aggression.

It was frustrating at times in this fight because Russel had nothing on his shots.

When Russel would come forward Loma would start using movement to get away, i was thinking Just hold your ground and push the fooker back, he literally cant hurt you

Loma would have stopped Russel if he had more experience

It was very annoying to watch! Loma would back away for so long, repeatedly. And for what?

Much respect to both RG and Kamegai,. while i admire a good skillful chess match this kind of fight is why i really love Boxing.

Loved that fight, i was critical of RG beforehand but he redeemed himself there, he didn't bore me tonight. Kamegai is a nutcase, love fighters like him, he just slowed down towards the end and lost 4 or 5 of the last 6, close before then.

                      Moving forward, I like to see these match-ups: Loma/Sonsona, Russell/JuanMa, Ghost/Alexander, Kamegai/Soto-Karass.
