You need to take your TMT goggles off bro. This is common knowledge. Mexican/hispanic make up about 40% of the PPV buy rates. Thats the majority, Do your homework. If Mexicans were the majority of the boxing fans as you say Canelo vs Perro should did better numbers than Floyd vs Maidana correct especially since that was a all Mexican fight. Abner Mares & Santa Cruz should be PPV stars if that's the case; I've went to the last 3 Floyd fights and the majority of fans weren't Mexican.Comment

I don't even think 2 PPV the same day is Possible with Satellite and Cable Companies I could be wrong but I rarely ever happens
This Card likely ends up on HBO for Free if Mayweather even fights on this date
If Chavez Jr not re-signing with Top Rank Arum will likely throw him a **** opponent and I wouldn't be shocked if he is not even the Main Event, yes Arum is that Spiteful!Comment

Especially with the son of their Idol on the card vs a slugger like Froch... if anything the Mexican fans know one thing, barn burners. I'm sure Floyd will pull in numbers but to say a head on collision with Chavez Jr wont hurt his numbers is silly, especially on such a historic date for Mexico. Plus, now that the undercard is shaping up quite nicely... if Gallo vs El Guerrero Azteca pulls through and others follow, definite hit. Personally i give 2 *****s and one flying fck about ppv numbers, but you simply cant compare an established fighter that has built himself up along with the aid of many other for the past +15 years to a fighter who has recently stepped onto the "PPV realm". Regardless, perhaps Mexicans dont attend Floyd Mayweather fights by the flocks unless they have someone to root for on opposing corner of Floyd, or atleast some good Mexican fighter names on the undercard... one thing is for sure, we do pump up PPV numbers if we have a fighter that we can stand behind and root for(I.E. Recently w/ El Chino).Last edited by Aztekkas; 06-19-2014, 12:50 PM. Reason: meant to quote dc3383 not JSFD26 lol... damn it i need sleep.Comment

Marquez does about 250-350k PPV when he's not fighting Manny or Floyd; Canelo did about 350k vs another mexican; Chavez jr did what 450k. So either Mexicans only support fights that are Floyd or Manny related since they blow those numbers out the water Mexicans as the A-side or the Mexicans are majority of boxing fans is a bit far fetched. I would like to see this data honestly.Comment

Are those fights on a Mexican holiday???Marquez does about 250-350k PPV when he's not fighting Manny or Floyd; Canelo did about 350k vs another mexican; Chavez jr did what 450k. What does a date have to do with buying a PPV; so are you saying Mexicans only support fights on Cinco De Mayo or Mexican Independence Day. Which one is it there the majority of the buys or they only order fights on two days out the year.Comment

There's also a huge point with comparing undercards. Golden Boy and Haymon put on the best undercards in the business. I don't see how that can be argued. And I'm guessing we'll have another good one for Floyd's next fight.
Top Rank undercards are straight garbage, and it only gets worse for non-Pac PPVs.
Top Rank spent like $12 on the Cotto-Martinez undercard. Chavez-Froch would probably be similar, with TR using GroupOn to find fighters at a discount.
And that will affect PPV buys as well, further widening the gap.Comment

So then tell me; why does Floyd only fight on these two dates? He isn't mexican why doesn't he fight on mlk day 4th of July or thanksgiving.
Answer: to maximize his profits
You know you guys could google this stuff yourselves....Comment
