Casual fans may not know much about boxing but it's better to have more of them for the growth (or survival) of the sport.

    well said.

I don't expect casual fans to know all that much.

People that take the time to read and post on boxing forums, you would assume are more "hardcore" fans than casual.

Yet many of them prove time and time again that Roger Mayweather was right.

Some of us don't go to those sites. Show us some examples of "extremely irritating" fans.

Casual fans seem to have more grip on the sport than a lot of boxing experts on here. Casuals dont try to over-analyze everything or try to be contrary just because. If you ask a casual if Pac could beat Maidana, you'd get a straight answer. On here, you'd have a 10 page thread about it. And then when the fight happens and Pac mops up Maidana, you get another 10 page thread with excuses

He fought a lot of big names like, Oscar, Mosley, Gatti, Ruelas, but I remember him best for his wars against the "professor". Nelson gave us allot if good fights to remember too btw ALLOT.

You get casual fans in every sport. Whenever Wimbledon comes on, suddenly everyone's a tennis expert, ditto the ashes with cricket etc.

Casual fans are the lifeblood of boxing, without them, the sport is dead.

That hits the nail on the head, and this is a forum out of all places the one place where regardless of being a casual or a die hard fan people debate, disagree and agree.

I hate the casuals sometimes but they do keep the sport alive, when the people actually controlling the sports are killing it.
