Your on the righr track. Actually its not so much about meaning as the power, versus the alleged power of language. We all live in a secular society and accept the fact that if you call me a bad name on this board, for example, and I tell you I will say your name and curse you with a word and a chicken bone ritual designed to bring bad luck...nobody will arrest me. We all accept that words cannot curse people.

Now...If on the other hand you call me a bad name here and I see you are going to the matinee tomorrow, I go to the matinee as well, when the movie starts I yell "Fire"!!!! I will most definitely be arrested. I used the power of words to incite an immanent danger to others. Mabe hoping someone would trample my antagonist.

What they have done is ascribed the same power as described above to words that insult bit do not cause immanent harm and this is VERY dangerous, it is a way to welcome censorship. Why? because society is giving a power to words that our constitution and way of life does not allow...we may as well arrest people who threaten the chickenbone ritual described above.

Ali was blatantly racist against the fellow in your avatar for months at a time, but it was just brushed off as "Ali being Ali". Broner did in fact beat up a Mexican that night, but him saying as such is racist? **** outta here.

Big Pun and Fat Joe would use "N-gga" on the same songs featuring or being featured on African American rappers songs, and nobody cared. That is just a very small example, it is 99.9% accepted for Puerto Ricans who grew up around blacks, to use that word. Maybe black people from the south take it to heart but in the East Coast, those non-blacks who grew up around predominantly black neighborhoods adopt the language blacks use. That's what happened to Hector Camacho.
so you're telling me a white Puerto Rican like JJ Barea or white Cuban like Pitbull
can drop the N bomb whenever they want and it's okay cause they 'grew up around black people'? Man, if Camacho said what he said down here in the south he would've caught the beating of his life. I guess on the East Coast and up north ya let that s*** slide. we don't in the south. come down here and find out if you want to.

Did Broner say "I just beat the fk out of that guy"? Did he say "I just beat the fk out of that punk"? Or "I just beat the fk out of Molina"? No, he made it a POINT to say it was a Mexican he just beat the fk out of and during Cinco De Mayo! And this is only the last in a string of comments he has made about Mexicans. Funny how people conveniently ignore the fact that this was just one of a number of derogatory comments made by Broner about Mexicans.

no he didn't make a point of saying mexican. as i have already said he said 'african, american, mexican' why is this so hard for you to understand.

would be racist if a south american said 'i will beat a mexican, an american and i just beat the **** out of a moroccan'

                of course it wouldn't........

                  racist comments by '****head bronner'

Really? just a warning, what if a Mexican fighter, had said " i just beat the ****ed off a black man' and just got away with a " warning " We would had Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpen etc. suing the **** out of the State of Nevada Boxing Commission. Or America is just afraid of people burning buildings and riots if serting decisions don't go their way.

Broner is an idiot, but he was just repeating his "can" line which he has used many times before, which isn't racist.

Yes he DID make it a point of targeting Mexicans! That was not a contiguous statement! It stood out by itself because there is NO REASON for him to mention races or nationalities to begin with unless it was to cloak his subsequent statement, which was an epic fail!! And do you just conveniently ignore the fact that this is just the last in a string of insults against Mexicans made by Broner???????? Funny how people totally ignore the fact that this was the FOURTH example of him attacking Mexicans! And no, when he said Mexicans were limited a couple years back, he did not preface that with any "CAN" statement. Get it? Got it? GOOD!
