Is this the most meaningful HW bout in over a decade?

    http://www.***************.net/news/...s-a-slave.html

Deontay Wilder's trainer and manager Jay Deas is hoping to be able to confirm movement on talks with Berman Stiverne soon after informing WBN that both sides have made contact regarding the imminent contest.

Undefeated Wilder, 28, is the WBC mandatory challenger to Stiverne's newly-claimed green belt and aims to extend his standout 31-0, 31 KO record in claiming the world championship later in the year.

Deas is confident a deal can be struck with Stiverne's promoter Don King for what many are expecting to be Wilder's defining night, as an introduction to the top table alongside formidable unified king Wladimir Klitschko is within reach.

"We believe and fully expect to fight Stiverne and the sooner the better," Deas exclusively told World Boxing News.

"Negotiations are ongoing with Stiverne's team and we hope to be able to announce something soon. We are ready to do this thing.

"Deontay is determined and our gym in Alabama gets 100 to 116 degrees so we will be well prepared for anything Stiverne brings.

"We usually name our camps and Deontay is calling this one, "Three Months a Slave! He's putting it all on the line in training to be his absolute best in this fight," he added.

Following his impressive victory over Chris Arreola, Wilder presents a tough first assignment for Vitali Klitschko's successor as 35 year-old Stiverne begins his long-awaited title reign as the underdog in his maiden defence. Stiverne has lost just once is his career, which happened early on against Demetrius King, and has been training at Floyd Mayweather's Gym in Las Vegas in the run up to his crowning night last May.

With 21 stoppages from his 24 wins, an encounter with Wilder has already capturing the imagination of the fans, with only a date and venue needed to be arranged before the build-up can begin.

This fight and the Wlad/Pulev fight are very good/meaningful fights and we should get an undisputed champion by next spring.

Bermane gon smash Deontay, Bermane can take a lick and is way to fast n skilled to get caught by Deontays sloppy work. Just like the 2nd Arreola fight he'll catch him coming rock him and finish it.

wilder has a shot to beat stiverne, but its not a given imo.... scott is a good fighter but stiverne is a top dude. if he kos stiverne, imo his only shot at wlad will be an early KO,, what ive seen from him so far is good but i need to see more, i think his chin is a bit questionable

besides malik scott wilder has really fought gary russel type opposition
