Comments Thread For: Arum on Pacquiao: Algieri is Possible, Garcia is Not

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, who will undergo surgery to replace his painful right knee tomorrow, says a title clash between “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao and newly crowned WBO Junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri is possible.

Arum told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that Algieri, who survived two knockdowns to win an unexpected split decision over Ruslan Provodnikov at the Barclays Center “is a possibility.”

No Danny Garcia must mean no Haymon fighters. The plot thickens!

If no Haymon fighters then Pac is screwed. Algieri and Abregu won't sell well on ppv. And Top Rank is out of options for him, who else is there? Jessie Vargas?

Give JMM the 50/50 split that he wants. It's either that or have the balls to fight Canelo like Floyd did.

If the PPV bombs on a Pac/Algieri fight Bob Arum has no one to blame but himself.

The way they do the undercards and Algieri being a total unknown it just spells disaster. I don't Chris any chance against Pac

This is funny...I like Chris and as a fellow New Yorker I want him to succeed, but I can't and I mean I can't in good conscious pay for him to fight Pacman or TBE for that matter.

                  He just not "there" yet.

so based on ur logic since TR is out of options, what benefit do they get by giving marquez a 50/50 split? is marquez gonna go in labor and pop out 6 more fighters for arum? LOL! ok so going with ur logic, marquez gets 50/50, fight with manny is done, then what?? LOL! and floyd fought canelo at 152, canelo said fight at his dvision or nothing from now on.
