I like his confidence. He needs to fight Molina. If he can unify titles, it would make him a more marketable opponent to the bigger named fighters.

A Kirkland fight would be really good. Andrade could even fight a guy like Andy Lee.

The kid's getting better every time out. I'd love to see him in with one of those big names next time out.

I like to see Andrade vs Lara. It would be one of the most tactical chess matches but I don't think it would be boring because I think their styles in this case would mix well.

I knew the kid had balls, but I didn't know this:

After impressively knocking out formerly undefeated Junior Middleweight Glen Tapia this past Saturday night on HBO’s Boxing After Dark, could James Kirkland (32-1, 28 KOs) be looking at an immediate title opportunity in 2014?

Current WBO 154 pound title holder Demetrius Andrade (20-0, 13 KOs) could be making his first defense against the Austin, Texas native according to the former Olympian’s co-promoter, Artie Pellulo of Banner Promotions.

Yesterday I left a message for 50 Cent, Kirkland’s promoter, and offered them the opportunity to face Demetrius Andrade for his WBO Junior Middleweight title,” insists the twenty-five year fight promoter. “Demetrius has to defend his title against the WBO’s mandatory challenger, but I believe I can make this voluntary defense against James Kirkland first.”

The 2008 Olympian won the vacant title by defeating Vanes Martirosyan in Corpus Christi, Texas, on November 9th, after former WBO champion Zaurbek Baysangurov was forced to relinquish his belt due to injury. Andrade’s mandatory challenger at this time would be Brian “The Lion” Rose of Blackpool, Lancashire, UK.

I offered 50 Cent and James Kirkland the fight, because that’s the kind of fight that will make Demetrius Andrade a star,” claims Artie Pellulo. “He needs to face opponents like James Kirkland. With Andrade’s style and Kirkland’s style, it’s going to be a great fight for the fans.”

I think he beats everyone at 154. He needs to stay busy at this age. Very good, but skills need to be a bit more refined.

The guy wants anyone at the top, you gotta appreciate that in an already champion. Surely, he would like the payday more, but he's willing to put his record/career on the line to do so.

I personally like Andrade, he's showed he has a lot of tricks in his bag.
I agree to an extent but I also think that a sometimes what the fans get annoyed with about certain fighters is that they go from fighting bums and getting paper titles to asking for high profile fights which will provide high pay days. So I think what bothers a lot of people is that they don't feel that some of these fighters have fought and defeated any gate keepers to desserve these high paydays. Because lets be honest as brave as you have to be to take on someone at the top level, you also have to know that you'll be getting a large pay day which I'm sure has a lot to do with the motivation behind wanting these fights.

If his skills need to be a bit more refined then he is not ready for the elite at 54. The kid is very good, but he gets hit clean with right hands, he was dropped in the Vanes fight, nothing big, but he did go down and got a count, early rounds tho. Andrade has big confidence which is good, but once you can figure him out a little the chin is there for the right - Rose hit him with it a couple of times clean..

The way the guy carries himself i dont like, never said he cant be ambitious did i? Iv seen interviews where he disrespects people who have fought better opposition (alvarez and lara) without fighting top level opposition yet.
