When scoring a round you should ask yourself "Who would I rather have been in that round?". Would your rather take 10 feather-duster shots that don't do any damage whatsoever or 4-5 bombs. Poor power should be penalised because very weak shots are ALWAYS the result of bad punching technique.
Is that a fact? Because punchers are born, not "made".

i thought ruslan edge it, but won't complain about the decision. but really, algieri's punches were feather taps. how could you land double the amount of your opponents and not even swell cut or bleed your opponents face much?

and 2 judges were from newyork, as is algieri, so you have to wonder.

It was a Boxing match and Provo got out-BOXED. Its not like we didnt know or have not seen Provo's style before just come forward and take a ton of shots and hope you land one good one. A decent BOXER will always be able to defeat that type. He has no defense and gets hit alot, if Algeiri was getting hit with as many power shots as you guys claim, shouldnt he have been hurt? We've seen them before, why do we know somebody has a good "chin" cause they get hit alot and thats not a good "boxer". Crowd pleasing does not = a great Boxer in a technical sense. Anyone can get hit that doesnt take talent. Some people think boxing is standing still and going all out with punches and no defense. Who wants to get hit in the face? Isnt that the reason you practice defense? to get hit the minimal amount of times and deliver punches that score as many times as you can, cause if you dont get a KO you will have the POINTS to win the contest. BOXING, cong**** to the NEW JR WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD.

question? Has Paulie M. ever won a single boxing match? Cause if we score boxing the way some of you claim, he cant win a single match in the sport. Which actually mean he lost to Broner and every other match ever!!!Cause he doesnt bring any power. Hell, you can just call the match before stepping in the ring cause he doesnt bring any power. I guess you can only box if you have crazy punching power, good bye to boxing, cause now youre not supposed to actually box, which is the great equalizer to power, oh and outlaw the jab too and ducking punches, and movement. and any adjustments that involve actually hitting someone if its not a power punch
