If one isn't much of a puncher it isn't wise to stand and trade with the stronger man. It's fucking simple.

I thought Boxing was the sport of hit and not getting hit?
By that definition Slicksters ARE Boxing.
It's also my favorite thing to watch/why I watch Boxing.
I don't understand why watching a fight go the distance is such a big deal. All it takes is a little concentration. I have ADD and even I can do that.

NO...sorry but no fighter is suppose to "LET HIS OPPONENT HIT HIM" or "KNOCK HIM OUT"
How about Brawlers learn how to cut the ring off, the sport is "BOXING" not "BRAWLING"
Rules are not going to change, this sport was built on "BOXERS" "Slicksters" look at your all time great list, most of them at the Top was "Slickersters" from Ali to Willie Pep what made them special was their Footwork, Speed and Quickness
Boxing is not going to change to appeal to the NEW BOXING FANS, new Rules won't be put in place and fighters are not going to change their styles and all become "STRICTLY BRAWLERS"

I found Ruslan vs Alvarado to be a much less exciting fight than Ruslan vs Bradley, Aglieri. Tua vs Ike which some people call the HW fight of the decade or whatever bored me to tears. 99% of the punches were smothered powerless because neither one would move backwards an inch.
Fights where the boxer is ahead on the cards and the puncher is ripping his face up and just needs one big punch are the best.

We don't know that. But you can bet, we are in the age right now where slicksters are favored in the scorecards than brawlers. If the fight is close or somewhat close, you can bet slicksters will now win than the brawler.
In the past, brawlers had enjoyed this advantage, they are usually appreciated for their relentlessness, the effort they give to take the fight to the boxers, to take extreme risk while slicksters, pure boxers, counter punchers just wait on them.
It maybe just another false observation, but, this was a trend for many years now since we had a pure boxer cash cow. Pray there is something like a 'Mike Tyson' coming up again to change this trend. Note: It is also important that this new 'Mike Tyson' should come from U.S. too. As he will immediately get the great advantage of global exposure.
