Marquez did well for a guy being dropped 3 times in the 1st, but he was very lucky in many aspects of that fight.

There was every reason the ref could have waived it off after the third KD, but he didn't. Marquez wend down the 3rd time, paused, and layed down on his back. That was a roll of the dice and he benifited from some lenient reffing.

He also should have lost that fight, technically, on the cards. That was a 10-6 first rounnd. Text book. The juduge that score it 10-7 was embarassed he goofed, and said immediatly after the fight if he'd have known, he would have scored it 10-6 the 1st time around.

After escaping the fight with a draw, Marquez was offered the fight twice, the 2nd time being far and away the biggest payday of his career, and he turned it down. That speaks for itself.

Manny was dejected that he threw everything in the 1st and didn't get him out of there, and was frustrated when he allowed him back in the fight. He did not get taken to school, nor should he have lost that fight.

It was competitve, and I think anyone that gave Marquez 9 rounds from 3 through 12 is being very generous to him.

Pacquiao has grown since that fight, developed more power in his right and more ability to mix up his punches. Marquez hasn't been challenged since.

Unless Pacquiao moves up to 135, I don't see anyone laying a 'Hopkins Tito' on him. He's the real deal right now, and he's improving with each fight and has just entered his prime.

buddy as much as I want to see PAC-JMM 2, it really takes two to TANGO ...

JMM missed his chance when he over priced the rematch a year ago, now he is around third in-line amoung PAC's priorities...

I think you will agree that PAC-MAB 2 will be a MONSTER at the boxoffice, while PAC-JMM 2 is more of a hardcore fan's fight...

IMHO, PAC's boxing career is at its peak and he has a lot of choices and options whom to fight, I will love it if he say it now the he wants JMM but IMHO JMM should be the one calling out PAC...

LOL!!! he's not a worthy champion. in the first place it is pac who runs after him. jmm ducks, goes to indonesia, and look for a useless win. what kind of champ is he? pac is the challenge no matter what's the cost.

he should take the offer and prove to pac he deserves more. let his fists do the talking. yet he opted to fight chris john LOL

the ref could of stopped it but marquez was not hurt enough for it to be stopped

In retrospect, yes. But you're missing my point.

The Reff saw him go down twice. The third time he went down from some big shots, slumped and then layed on his back.

That could have easilly been constrewed by many pro ref's that (being the 3rd knock down of the round) he'd had enough.

It was admirable that he got up, and I'm not saying he should have been prevented from continuing,

I'm saying the way it looked, and going down three times could have seen the fight waived off.

If it was waived off after that 3rd kd, I don't think there would have been many complaints.

What do you mean he's got nothing to prove?

He's got two titles at 130, and the guy that's brutally beat him down and KO'd him is now at that weight sharing the top spot.

                      He has everything to prove.

He should try to avenge his loss.

He's a great fighter, and I think he will.

The motivation and the money are there. It makes complete sense.
