Comments Thread For: Roach: No Problem Training Pacquiao To Beat Algieri!

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is not completely sure if Chris Algieri (20-0, 8KOs) has done enough to secure a November fight against WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38KOs).

On Saturday night, Algieri pulled off the biggest win of his career when he survived two knockdowns in the first round and won a twelve round split decision victory over heavily favored Ruslan Provodnikov to capture the WBO junior welterweight championship at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

OMG please stop posting about a possible algieri-pac fight. This is how fights pick up steam and get made. Roach also stated "we don't know if pac is going back down to 140 yet". That means they're considering garcia for nov which I have no prob with. Garcia deserves it a lot more than any TR fighter does

I think all this talk is just that, Marquez remains their target. Still, Pacquiao moving to 140 would be interesting if it was to face Garcia or Matthyse, but otherwise let's see him against GBP welterweight.

man Bob and Freddie should be offering a fight to Maidana with Pac, that would be a fight that actually does good PPV numbers and will be damn entertaining

Roach has it all wrong! Algieri won the fight... That means Arum and team Pac are going to target Provodnikov because he lost!!
