There's no way Algieri won that fight

I saw Ruslan getting out worked and out boxed in almost every round to be honest. He'd land a nice shot here and there but Algieri would tag him with a few shots head AND body and slip out. Ruslan was head hunting and missing while eating jabs and counters.

Come off it pugs. Sometimes we've just got to face the facts and that is our fighter lost.

I don't condone Algieri's style though it's not entertainment to me. Anyway best of luck to him.

        I had it 115-111 Prov

If this was the amatuers Algeiri would've won no question

Gift hometown decision even tho Algeiri would beat alot of boxers out there

Watching the fight as a BOXING fan instead of a Ruslan fan woulda helped u see that Algieri weathered the storm and gave Ruslan a BOXING lesson . Worked behind the jab , used his movement to keep Ruslan from setting up , and connected some clean combination to the body and head . U might call it pitty pat but he had enough on his punches to get Ruslans respect . Plus last i heard Ruslan has a pretty good chin .

The damage to his face isn't what it seems to be. Provo landed that huge punch in round 1 which caused instant swelling, the rest of his face didn't look too bad.

I don't think I saw him get hurt any other time, Provo's pure power did send him off balance at times, but he didn't look hurt.
Well put, Algeri had no damage other then that eye. Chris clearly out boxed Ruslan and out landed him and out worked him.

Ruslan was outboxed and outworked, Algieri just wanted it more.

I find it funny how Ruslan fans were here claiming that his messed up face in the Bradley bout had no bearing in the fight but now it matters when the tables are reserved. LOL

I take it you're a huge fan of amateur boxing? I'm a fan of boxing and proper sitting down on your punches. Algieri doesn't sit down on his punches... that's amateur point fighting that I just can't stand to watch.

This is boxing, not a strong-man contest. There is a criteria for scoring rounds, and it does not include "I bet Ruslan's punches do 189% more damage than Algeris! Algeri has no HP left!"

I am a big fan of Provodnikov while Algeri is no one to me. I expected Algeri to be KOd in the first round, period, and was hoping to see Pacquiao-Provodniko or a rematch with Bradley next.

But Algeri wasn't KOd. He won the fight and won it clearly.

Watch it again. "Clean, effective punching" doesn't mean "tears the other guys face up more." Algeris punching, which was very effective, kept Provonikov at bay. Kept him from landing another knockdown-shot and kept him frustrated and unable to do much clean punching of his own. You don't score blood, you don't score how a guys face looks. You score their boxing.

                  Algeri won it.

I felt tempted to create a similar thread. I actually predicted this but how could anyone find 8 rounds to give Algieri? Specially after being dropped twice.

I thought Provo won. It was a close fight but in my honest opinion he won.
