Interesting a lot of trainers, fighters and sparring partners and such are fancying Algieri's chances.
From what I've seen I don't rate him personally but I do see where people are coming from.
Its like he has the right idea but isn't good enough in specific areas too pull it off over 12.

A part of me thinks it could be similar to Paulie vs Porter & he just hasn't the pop to command respect and gets steamrolled.

I also agree with the above that horrible left uppercut from long range. Its often taught over here in the U.K.

I respect your opinion because you lace the gloves up for a living but you kinda covered your ass from all angles in your prediction.

You of all people know all the training in the world can't help when you're in the ring with a cold-blooded killer like Provodnikov. We'll see how his will to survive under extreme circumstances are (like Bradley.)

When **** gets real in there tonight, can Algeri survive? That's the question. I for one, do not know one thing about Algeri but imo it doesn't matter who Is on the other side of the ring against Provo, my statement remains the same ( just insert next boxers name where Algeri is.)

I'm with you Flake. I was also picking Algieri for this fight. I wish I had seen more of his fights cause I'd like to know how good his chin is. If his chin can hold up I definitely see him outboxing Provo. Should be a good fight though. Can't wait for tonight. All the best July 12th man

Edit: Good looking out Cubanbox, gonna watch that fight now.

I agree I think Algeiri has a good chance of taking this, its another 50 50 fight, and style match up between boxer vs. puncher.

Its going to be a good fight though

Agieri will give Ruslan a lot of problems.

Ruslan has been in beast mode though past few fights, not sure if Agieri can hold him off for 12 rounds.

Watching the Peralta fight. Provo can close that distance better than Peralta and his combos are a lot faster and more punishing. He can gas out too though if he punches himself out.

Algiri looked hurt in there sometimes too

I think he took the punches well. Visibly hurt a couple of times during the fight but he managed. I love his left uppercut and his body attack. This kid can mix it up a good deal but I also see it's not that hard to draw him into a firefight either. Towards mid to late rounds he smartened up and went back to boxing. I like what I see in this kid. That was a good fight.

TBH I don't recall ever seeing Algieri, you guys say he's got the skills to pull off the upset but ... well I dunno. it would take somebody pretty special to beat ruslan so I'm just gonna assume ruslan can take care of business against a guy who's been fighting at a lower level till now.

If Algeri has some good lateral movement, he can fluster ruslan, but i dont think he has the power to keep ruslan honest, and eventually ruslan will walk him down and stop him around the 6th or 7th..
