Cotto's gloves (Everlast MX) in the Mayweather fight are the same model that Mayweather rejected and didn't want Maidana using.

Now that Floyd is older and Cotto is more dangerous under roach he could possibly beat a shot Mayweather.

The hype would be incredible. Puerto Ricans everywhere would name Cotto the greatest fighter of all time because he beat an old Mayweather.

And they will go to their graves thinking this.

I would rather see Cotto vs Canelo or Lara or Golovkin, hell even chavez jr if he truly is the Middleweight Champion. Mayweather is not a middle weight. His best weight is 147

C'mon now. Cotto won a number of rounds and was competitive in the fight. But you have to keep in mind that a fighter can win every single round in a match and that fight can still be considered a competive fight. One fighter just did enough to win each round is all.

Cotto did not win that first fight, but it was competitive. Floyd acknowledged this himself. It was a tough fight. But floyd clearly won.

Do I think Cotto can do better in a rematch? Yes I do. Why? Because a big part of boxing is your confidence level, and Miguel is riding high right now. Plus I think him and roach are a good match.

Do I think Cotto beats Mayweather. Most likely not. But any things possible.

I wouldn't mind seeing the rematch, especially with cottos mw belt on the line.

Not just wild card, but every boxer. And can you blame them? Who wouldn't want a chance at beating the #1 p4p guy and making a lot of dough in the process?

The Sergio Martinez "old", "crippled", and "past prime" comments are from the same people who picked him to win. There are even people here who said Cotto is no different then before Freddie.

So if Cotto were to fight and beat Floyd the excuse is that Floyd is old and past prime? There are excuses upon excuses for everything on these forums, goddamn.

If anyone here has to use their common sense would know that floyd can fight 2 type of ways fight in the pocket and box on his toes for 12 rds. 1. The cotto fight was close cause floyd fought cottos fight which was in the pocket and off of the ropes and this was to appease the fans. 2. The Canelo fight floyd mixed up his style with boxing and fighting in the pocket and even took the fight to canelo. 3. The maidana fight floyd fought in the pocket and off the ropes once again to appease the fans. These 3 fights could have been easy and boring if floyd stuck with boxing throughout the fights. I don't see cotto giving floyd any problems in a rematch and i see the fight being worse for cotto if floyd decides to box on his toes. The only fighter out there at this moment that would be a problem for floyd is keith Thurman

You knock out a couple bums and over the hill fighters with a ton of flaws and you start to feel rejuvenated and ****, think you're a new man and a totally different fighter, not the first time its happened, fighters don't change over night...remember when Manny came up in weight and started destroying guys, remember who burst his bubble again, Marquez...and when he lost that fight 8-4 and still got the bs decision and thought no I'm a different fighter now and fought him again what happened? Roach is a great coach, and he puts a fire under your ass and makes you fight aggressive and smart but don't get it mistaken...you're not on Floyd's level and you never will be no matter who trains you

Does Cotto really think that? Or does he realize some gullible fans think that and is more than willing to cash in on it? Freddie and Miguel have been at it long enough to know the game and hoe fickle spectators are. Two shoddy wins and you're on top of the world, one close loss and you're crap -- take what you can get while you can.
