    It sounds like a lot.

The question is what the purses were for previous challengers (except Povetkin who got russian oil Money)?

If it equates to 20/25% of the overall purse, then fine - if not - forget about it.

Sounds like a lot for a guy who recently fought a decent named heavyweight for 150k Euros.

      But whatever.

As a mandatory Pulev is entitled to a 70/30 split. I don't know how much this fight is worth so I can't comment.

Tony Thompson, Klitschko's last mandatory defense before Leapai, received a purse of 1.005million Euro's I believe. But he only received 15% of the purse with IBF, whereas Pulev is looking at 20 or 25% I think - so should be a little higher.

            Not with the IBF.

I expect Pulev will get somewhere in the low 2s. Three million euro seems like a whole lot, for a guy that is not exactly a superstar and has a lot of drawing power.

Pulev is really in a win-win situation with this fight - I think. If he miraculously wins this fight, he'll be on top of the boxing world; if he goes in and makes a fight out of it and puts in a good showing then his profile will be elevated

And if he gets brutally battered - the most likely option - he'll be a lot richer than he is now.

Right. I guess I don't blame Pulev for throwing out lofty numbers. He's been waiting eons for his shot and he's trying to cash in the best he can

You're right. Pulev is entitled to a 75/25 split if it goes to purse bids since he's ranked number 1.
