For those saying it was just a partially torn maniscus, there you go... Dude had MULTIPLE injuries centered around his knee, and an infection to contend with. They were doing creative things to rebuild this man's cartiledge for God's sake...

What a hoax.... I keep berating myself that I half believed Martinez when he said he was good to go.

Don't suck at being a bootleg Roy Jones and you won't get thrown around and your knee torn a bit. Simple.

Why are people even dis*****g this? He had surgery twice in two years, if I'm remembering things correctly. His time should have been spent in physiotherapy, not in the boxing gym.
I feel the same way. Didn't matter to me who won but during the first few rounds I said Martinez legs are gone. No legs, no balance, no power in your punches.

He needs/wants the money plain and simple. He's tried to deny his knees being the problem despite his trainer stopping the fight because quote his "knees weren't working", he's made comments about how he doesn't want to be one of those boxers who goes from poor to rich back to poor.

If GGG fight Martinez he would of killed him in the first round. The only thing I'm mad about is the lineal middleweight title is most likely gonna get defended against undeserving welterweights and junior middle weights (Mayweather and Canelo), and GGG will never get his shot.
Maybe but we do not know because they did not fight. If Cotto would have fought Canelo. People would be like Martinez would have killed him. Cotto is the lineal champ so GGG needs to sit down and wait his turn.

Doesnt matter if he holds the lineal title, beating a shot Martinez doesnt make him the best middleweight. Anybody that thinks he is, is delusional.

                Titles only matter with context.

They probably think Mayweather beating Ortiz and Guerrero makes him the "lineal" welterweight champion too despite Pacquiao and Bradley being in the division

GGG just has to keep doing what hes been doing, KOing the other top 10 middleweights in the division (Geale is rated top 3), while the supposed lineal champ keeps ducking him.

It was sad to see Martinez lose in such a fashion. But you know what, he was fully aware of the condition he was in leading up to and even the day of the fight. So there should be no excuses and I dont think Martinez has even made one.

Did he look unsteady on his legs? yes

                  again he chose to fight.

The fact he was on crutches for two weeks after knee surgery well, no ****! what'd you expect him to walk out of the O.R.?????

Why do people keep saying this, just because Martinez knowingly signed the fight with bad knees....doesnt change the fact he has bad knees.

Here is the bottom line. Nobody here can prove with 100% certainty, that Sergio's knees were the issue. Yes, he looked like a di ck when Cotto clocked his jaw and yeah, you can kid yourself that it was his knees all you want but Cotto tagged him and Sergio himself said he could not recover. Seems to me, Judah had the same small tear in his knees. Sergio's resume was weak. Let's start there and see how far up the ATG ladder we can really get with Sergio's career.
