Comments Thread For: Martinez: I Wanted To Fight, Beat Carl Frampton in Ireland!

A rematch in boxing is always welcomed by fans if the first fight was a classic or controversial, or perhaps both. February 2013 saw Belfast’s Carl Frampton (18-0, 13 KOs) deliver a conclusive ending to almost nine rounds of stirring action against Spaniard, Kiko Martínez (31-4, (23KOs). Although there was no controversy, the ingredients have come together to make a rematch possible. Most observers will agree that Frampton has earned a world title shot, and given the history between the two, a rematch was perhaps inevitable once ‘La Sensación’ became the IBF champion.

Yeah right. He turned it down several times and it took a Kings ransom to get him to come over

Why shouldn't Kiko make Frampton pay for the pleasure??
          It's a good fight.

Kiko obviously wants to be well paid for losing his strap & getting KTFO again. Can't fault the guy tbh.

man i hope hes not taking this fight because his confidence is shot but anyone who mentions ggg fight should be shot until martinez shows his knee is ok even tho i think alot of the damage was from being concussed i been concussed before where i literally had barely any control over my legs for hours and my knees would give in thats why i think alot of it had to do with getting hit over the head so many times early, the way his knee was giving way if it was as bad as it looked he would not of been able to stand let alone handle a punch or even a jab
