Andre's talking to us, "the media and the fans". He says the big fights are there, it's just that the other guys won't fight him.

For a smart guy that he seems to be he's awfully miscalculating. Doesn't seem like there's too much sympathy for poor little Andre.

What are those 'big fights', exactly? There doesn't seem to be a top name at 168 Ward hasn't already beaten. Except for Chavez. Who in their right mind would give Chavez a chance against Ward? So we, the fans and the media, have to demand a mismatch? And pay for it too?

Ward is like B-Hop. He is not appreciated for his boxing. He's appreciated for his wins. He needs to seek out challenges because otherwise people won't watch him. He is only as interesting as the guy he's fighting.

Some people here say Ward has earned the right to sit on his ass. I say it's his birthright. He is welcome to spend his days in his bed for all I care. The one right I don't want to give him is the right to whine about it to 'media and fans'.

So Boxingscene, please give the 'Ward whining' articles a miss. And I'll honestly try to avoid the 'Andre Ward says' category. At the very least until he quits boxing and starts working as a boxing analyst full time.

Ward gets so much hate, because some fans want to see Golovkin vs Froch / Kessler. But they and Golovkin know that once he moves up, he'll have to face Ward in a fight he'll end up losing. I think its important to separate fanboy hate for Ward and criticism of how he has handled his career. They two are not interchangeable and, from reading this and many threads, the latter is more what people are frustrated about. Ward's fighting ability is widely respected.

The problem isn't Andre Ward's promoter, the problem is that Andre Ward is not a PPV draw.

If Andre Ward ever moves up and fights Sergey Kovalev, he will get knocked out within 5 rounds. Sergey Kovalev wont tolerated the hit and hold nonsense and walk right through him.

Just accept that Froch and Chavez are too scared to fight you and other fighters are going to stay at 160 untill you move up and it safe for them to do so. Untill then youll have 168 on lock forever!

Your statement makes no sense. If the demand for the Kovalev fight grows...but it's all about money..why would he jump to Showtime? Only reason would be he's scared his hit and clinch style won't work on a bigger man he can't push around...

Ward has no fight lined up...and fought a nobody in his last fight..and hasn't had a fight of notoriety in over 3 years.drained Dawson fight doesn't even count..Dawson wasn't even ranked at 168..it was a joke that fight was made in that division in the first place...what he did was worse than a catch weight..he purely drained Dawson and Dawson will never be the same...

Ward is 30 years old...and is still virtually unknown outside of Cali...

Ward is the new Mayweather minus the fans, money, and fame LOL...

How is Ward the new Mayweather when Mayweather has taken far more risk then Ward?When was the last time Floyd has fought a fighter who wasn't top level?Like 9 years ago that`s when.Ward`s last opponent against a top level opponent who wasn't weight drained was 3 years ago.Ward is 30 years old and never move up to a new weight class,by the time Floyd was 30 he was champion in 5 weight class.

My only downside to criticizing Ward is i have to co-sign with racist people on the board who don`t criticize GGG for Cherrypicking because GGG is white,but they criticise Ward for Cherrypicking.

i actually agree with ward unless its a ppv fight or hes getting paid its not worth moving up for one fight against a dangerous opponent it just dont make sense but man they need to get him some fights either way his promoter literally is not getting anything done for ward
