A fight vs Chavez makes no sense for anyone except Andre Ward. PPV fights have to be looked at by the public as competitive and good fights with decent odds if we're going to pay $70 to see it. Ward and whoever manages him are very out of touch.
He gave you competitive fights. He cleaned out his division. Now he wants to be rewarded for his tough fights.

This isn't Peter Quillin we're talking about. Ward earned the right to sit on his ass until he sees a deal he likes.

The same excuses we can make up for Ward can apply to GGG. GGG has been crying the same b/s but he wont move up in weight to challenge. We still dont know if GGG is legit. We are amaze with his power, but no one has tested this guy. Ward is legit and has been tested.

Ward has earned the right to go after money fights.

There's nothing at 175 for him outside of Kovalev since the other light heavyweights are over on HBO's rival network. So staying at 168 for now is a good idea.

Fights with Chavez Jr, Froch, and even Kessler would pay well. And Golovkin is bound to move up sooner or later too. GGG isn't a big enough draw to get in on the Cotto sweepstakes so if he wants a big payday he will follow the money to 168 as well.

Otherwise they should let you go. Al Haymon could promote a goat and fill the seats but Goosen doesn't know how to promote Ward is crazy.
Goossen got him into the super six and made it so that ward didnt have to leave the US. He got him $2.5mm to fight La Bomba....Ward is known because of his promoter.

perhaps consider that ward overvalues himself. instead of fighting he has delusional ideas that he is a ppv draw. he isnt and if he doesnt see that then he will wake up in 5 years and have nothing to show for his limitless talent.

Welcome to the unforgiving sport of boxing, where you just don't 'earn' the right to sit on your ass and make millions with easy fights you like. If that were the case then Roy would have never been brutally stopped a number of times and several of the sport's icons wouldn't have ended up broke while fighting to make ends meet. Ward beat Froch and Kessler, big whoop!, good wins but let's not get carried away and act like dude is already some ATG with an untouchable resume. Even Mayweather and Pacquiao are still out there fighting their asses off after garnering legendary records and careers that completely tower over Ward's. He needs to get back in the ring soon and earn his spot or continue to sit on the sidelines while everybody forgets him.

Earning the right and being able to sell a "money" fight are two different things. The only way Ward gets to where he wants is if he starts fighting again.

Some of you guys are absolute idiots. I swear. The same people that are begging Ward to jump to fight Kovalev aren't even bothering to ask GGG to move up to fight Ward. Oh, you'll respond by saying, "Well, GGG isn't the one saying he can't get fights!" but isn't GGG also the one saying he'll fight anyone from 154lbs-175lbs? Let's be real here. Andre Ward is looking to make the most of his reign at 168lbs. He's said before that once he moves up to 175lbs he'll be a full blown LHW and he'd have no plans on moving back down. And for some of you that don't get his question, "After I beat Kovalev then what?!" let me explain since people on this forum are such idiots.. Andre Ward is saying that once he beats the fighter that everyone see's as the king of the LHW division (which he's not) then who else does he have left to fight? You guys won't be asking him to fight anyone at that point. So since he knows that fight will always be there, why not make the most financially at 168lbs and then when he moves up to 175lbs the Kovalev fight will be even bigger. Most of you guys don't get that Boxing is a BUSINESS! Ward NEVER once said he wouldn't fight Sergey.. but then all you guys say is he's ducking. Once he beats Kovalev you guys will complain that he was limited, flat footed, had no head movement, etc.. there's always something. Boxing fans are such idiots sometimes lol.. smh..

This clown's ego has gotten the best of him. I never fell for his holier than thou son of god bull****. Virgil Hunter's either. This primadonna doesn't deserve a PPV fight. Enough of all this "he earned it" garbage. He hasn't kept himself relevant enough for PPV. Not fighting and whining and complaining like a ***** won't get you anywhere Andre. If it wasn't for Kellerman and HBO blowing him during every broadcast, no one would think about him. He did it to himself.
