Sounds like Ward is coming to terms with moving up. There aren't too many top light heavyweights on HBO and that spells bad news for one of their poster boys. Ward doesn't want to waste these years wandering aimlessly in a division barren of stars, like Roy Jones had to do at 175. And like Jones, he feels he's earned the right to call shots. But the reality is that he's going to have to give somewhere, whether it's fighting Kovalev, traveling overseas or whatever it is.

      Then......

You would receive million plus dollar payday and massive credit from the boxing community and fans the world over?

      Lets go with that.

the guy may not be tested yet but stylistically, he'll give ward all he could handle. kovalev fights at full range with his long arms. he's an aggressive offensive fighter but he goes in with jabs and straight punches. his combinations are brutal and he got fast hands too.

ward of course will baffle him with his lateral movements and will make him miss but if kovalev catches him, ward will fall down. kovalev is a dangerous fight for anyone because of his power...not to mention he has the size advantage over ward.
I think Ward would handle it comfortably, but not easily. Ward is a master at breaking a fighter's rhythm, which is the best way to beat Kovalev. You have to keep him from ever getting into that rhythm where he can let his fists loose with fluid combinations.

I've been a fan of Ward for a while, but it's getting difficult. What does he mean? If he beats Kovalev, that's a massive win. Isn't that enough? So he won't fight anyone because he doesn't know what will come next? He's not doing anything now. A win over Kovalev is a big feather in his cap. It doesn't make sense to me.

Always bitter with a huge chip on his shoulder. I wonder if that has anything to do with the small amount of fan support he has?

Oh well stay inactive and boring, no one really cares.

Wow the race card just been expanded...if you call out members of another racial group for being racist..that makes you racist too...wow..

So I guess you accusing me of being racist makes you racist under your own twisted logic...

Don't try to use race-bullying tactics on me you coward...go start a race war somewhere else...
I am not a racist but I can be prejudice, or at least very biased. For example I don't like fat women they just don't do anything for me. As far as the racist thing is concerned I only said it because you seem to have an obsession with the word because you seem use it quite often. May I suggest you look up the definition of the word because you seem a little confused. With that said, and please don't misunderstand me because they really could in fact be a racist. But simply supporting a certain group of fighters, even if it is defined by race, isn't enough to qualify anyone as being a racist.

Wards prima donna side shows. Im thinking its not Goosen whos keeping Ward from fighting but Wards diva like monetary demands that get in the way.

Not sure that's diva. Delusional maybe but definitely not diva. He convincingly beat Froch and Kessler and Bika, all convincingly. This isn't Adrian Broner here.
