So tired of calling every boxer a "warrior"

The word really has lost all meaning. After every good fight, the winner says, "He's a true warrior" or some other bull**** like that. It's sooooo old and commonplace that it really doesn't mean anything anymore. Shane called Fernando a warrior like it was gonna make Vargas feel better. Whatever. Everybody is a warrior.

I heard CITA call Chris Byrd a warrior the other day. Listen, people, and especially you, CITA. There is a difference between a warrior and a God warrior. A BIG difference.

    Arturo Gatti is a warrior
Floyd Mayweather is not a warrior

    Castillo and Corrales are warriors
Byrd and Wright are not warriors

You're right. I think Danny Williams said the same thing of Skelton last night. Meh. Its easy for the winner to say how good the opponant was blah blah. Its all meaningless.

99% of boxers are warriors. Just in different ways.
Having a good defense shouldn't exclude you from being a warrior. These guys go into the ring and give it what they got. You got to respect that.

Hmm. You might sort of have a point there.

Floyd Mayweather dosen't need to be a warrior, why take a shot deliberatly if he has the skill to beat his opponent without a recieveing a touch on his face.
This is boxing where the idea is to hit your opponent and not to get hit.

to me, you gotta take and give a lot of punches to be a warrior: therefore, to be a warrior, you must be a poor boxer and a strong fighter.

it's just some of these fans and fighters act like being a warrior comes first (Vargas included) and it doesn't. it's like, I could say I have no skills but damn I sure am a great warrior for taking 200+ punches in three rounds and staying on my feet. I might lose, but I sure am a warrior! who cares

what i think is more annoying is the way some people talk about boxing like its the only sport you can be a warrior in.

constantly have to read threads around here thay say **** along the lines of "youve never been in the ring so dont talk ****"

no ive never been in the ring, but ive played 3 sports competitively throughout high school, was all state in two of them, was the captain of all 3 teams, went to college on a football scholarship.... and i know a lazy bum when i see one. i can call a fighter a piece of **** for quitting the same way i called someone a piece of **** for sitting out practice with a fake injury

alot of you guys who currently box or have boxed in your life put way too much stock into that experience and think it somehow makes you "Buddies" with every fighter that ever lived. just cause i played football better than any of you guys i would never be caught dead saying something like

"Terrell owens goes out and puts it on the line every sunday, you dont even know what thats like so just show some respect or shut up"

thats what some people, namely CITA, say way too often on this forum.

i dont care if someone boxed and i didnt, it doesent make you right, all you fake ass boxers should thank your lucky stars that more REAL ATHLETES dont take part in the sport, cause youd be getting your asses kicked.

anyone that uses that line is out of ideas is how I look at it. whenever I win an argument on here, the guy ends by saying, "SO WHAT! I BOX!"

I don't care about anyone that boxes on this site. It doesn't make you any more knowledgeable about boxing or sports in general than the next guy. And besides, if you were any good, you'd be boxing for money. I doubt more than 5-10 posters on this site have even made money boxing.
