No one is saying Cotto doesn't deserve credit, only that he deserves the same amount of credit that Holmes got for beating Ali, Wlad got for beating Mercer, Camacho got for beating Leonard, and Green got for beating Jones.Comment

Just what Mathed said: The guy obviously couldn't shift his weight around like he did in the past (Martinez). Cotto is now the champ but he didn't beat the real "champ". He beat a shell of his former self.
Sergio could have just retired before the fight or took time off but he wanted another pay day. Oh well, it's like he gave the belt to Cotto. Let me explain: If Martinez had retired before the fight then there would have been a box off between the two top contenders, Miguel would probably have not gotten a chance to win the belt. So Sergio did Cotto a favor in fighting him. Miguel did what he had to do and any fighter would have done the exact same thing.. You fight to win and crush your opponent as quickly as possible. I'm not a Cotto hater either, this is just how it turned out.Comment

Compare the footwork here:
With here:
In the latter he looks like he's moving in treacle. And wtf are those sloppy side-steps he starts doing on 3.30 (and repeats throughout the fight). He wasn't even doing that Vs Murray, and his knees were bad enough then. Those aren't the kind of movements a super athletic dude like Martinez makes. He looked like this guy
