Would have agreed if Trinidad didn't set to punch and didn't really have an active jab. One can't just rely on catching Mayweather, because Mayweather is tougher than he looks. Prime for prime, at 147, i pick Floyd. Things get stickier at 154 though.Comment

I would favor Tito because he was bigger, had fast hands, and was skilled enough to land that ridiculous power he had. But Tito had problems with boxers. So the biggest question going in would be could box and move like he would have to for 12rds. Another question would be could Floyd hurt Tito. Tito was a lil chinny. If Floyd could hurt Tito, I think Floyd would beat and possibly stop Tito. If he couldn't, Tito eventually walks him down and stops him.Comment

Very, very interesting match up. I mean prime for prime at 147 pounds, Tito was nothing to sneeze at especially with his supreme power and stamina but even after having said that, I think he can be outboxed. If the Floyd that uses his legs show up coupled with his A+ stamina, I think he can win a unanimous decision but even then it might still be a very tough fight 'cos I see Tito pressuring him all night. But if the Floyd that stays in the pocket shows up i.e. as in the Cotto fight, then it is going to be an early night. If you think Floyd can fight Tito in the pocket and win, you will need to have your head checked out.Puerto Rican icon Felix "Tito" Trinidad, who this past weekend was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, feels very confident about his ability to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr. - if they collided at welterweight or junior middleweight.
Trinidad was asked if there was one active fighter that he would have liked to face in his era, and the fighter Trinidad selected was Mayweather. When Trinidad was a dominating force at welterweight, Mayweather was fighting several weight divisions below.

FLoyd by knockout that is nuts to say... He would have to open up like he did on gatti and we know if he opens up he will be left open for counters and he will go to sleep... Its a bad matchup for floyd... He doesnt throw enough and he not ODL or winky where they had great jabs... He not gonna muscle him up like bhop and make it ugly... When I discuss these hypothetical match-ups. I look at them as what the guys were at their best. The best I've seen Floyd was the Gatti fight. And that Floyd did open up. But if you look at my post. I was basing it on Floyd's ability to hurt Tito. If he couldn't, obviously he's not gonna open up. But if he makes a dent. Hell yeah he would let his hands go.FLoyd by knockout that is nuts to say...
