It was so obvious that his legs were providing no support. Martinez was scared to death to do anything that put pressure on them.

        Exactly.

Cotto is the best fighter Sergio has ever fought. Cotto did what he was supposed to do. Sergio was overrated and obviously not 100%

The Cotto we saw last night outclasses any version of Sergio.

Well in that case Cotto got exposed 5 times before this fight. Absolutely no defence against pacquiao and margarito. Hell he had no defense against Trout either or Ricardo Torres.

I love how you're saying hes been exposed now that hes 40 years old and coming off career threatening knee surgeries.

When you have bad knees... even if you might be able to plant your body weight on it, you can't push or get any force out of them wether its to jump, punch, push or pull.

Martinez was shoot from round 12th of Chavez and Murray was paid off to not make him loose at home in front of his fans, hence why he eased up when Sergio was obviously done.

Still, great win for Cotto's career, when people look at records they won't see any of the stuff I just mentioned. His fans will slobber all over this win and his haters will hate. But to say Cotto looked "Great" is an overstatement and that Martinez looked "Bad" is an understatement... the guy was dragging his feet during warm ups in the dressing room.
I saw a Murray interview months after the fight. He was actually thankful that they didnt give the fight to him. No kidding, look it up.
He was sure they would have linched him right there if he had won. I think they played in the monumental of River plater. You dont want to be an english boxer surrounded by thousands of angry Argentine soccer fans.
Why Sergio accepted to fight like that is anyone's guess. Pride? most likely. Maybe? maybe. All I know is that I wish he had retired with the dignity the guy deserved after Chavez Jr.

Did De La Hoya get demolished by Pacquiao because he was the best fighter he ever fought?

That's literally the last time I've seen a combatant look as unfit to compete as Sergio did

atleast this is a more valid reason than the likes of say "cotto never even hurt martinez, martinez just didn't have any knee's, that's why he was wobbling after being hit"
