IMHO there is no immediate need for a second Floyd fight, the Cotto we say is the same Cotto we saw in the Floyd fight. Let Cotto establish supremacy at MW before we do a second Floyd fight.

If Canelo beats Lara, I think that makes you more worthy than beating anyone in the current weak middleweight division.

Cotto shouldn't go near Floyd or Canelo until he cashes in on that strap and speaking of cashing-in -- Canelo (Post-Lara & win or lose) is Cotto's best move financially second to a fight with Floyd .... Both of them represent a cash-out fight.

Because flat-out and undeniably Cotto will not beat Canelo or Floyd,Roach or no Roach. Styles make fights and Floyd's style is all wrong for Cotto followed closely by Canelo.

I disagree, Cotto could beat Canelo. It's a 50-50 fight.

Canelo is the money fight, but I doubt he gets past Lara, so the real question is does Cotto scrap Lara, as they cant get Lara up on the stage he should be at. Lara is a nightmare for Cotto. This is the fight we as fans should be pushin for. Because we all know that Lara is about to embarrass Canelo much like Floyd did
Yeah but you know how boxing works. Canelo/Cotto will happen regardless of the outcome of the Lara fight.

Either that or he can steamroll a lesser fighter to build his momentum back. After losing to Austin Trout all Cotto had to do was beat Delvin Rodriguez and they hype for Canelo/Cotto regained stream immediately.

Lara isn't a MW, so no, it doesn't.

Can't wait to see how people will justify Cotto avoiding a GGG fight, especially since he's the Lineal Champ at 160.

                Let the fun begin!

okay then who's to say Cotto deserved a crack at the MW crown with no previous fights at Middle and a win over mediocre Delvin Rodriguez?

provided Mayweather stands by his September fight date

Canelo-Cotto is the biggest and best fight option for both men ... provided Nelo can get by Lara and not lose too much standing

**I don't expect Cotto to fight GGG, especially when there's more marketable fights (Mayweather rematch or Canelo) available

I personally think that the Cotto/Canelo match is a 60/40 in Cotto's favor even before the Martinez match, Just viewing common opponents (Floyd). With Cotto we have to deal with a renewed confidence now, and Canelo has to deal with the best boxer at JMW other than Floyd in his next fight. Canelo looks good against come forward fighters, but lets see what he does against a boxer with pop before we deem this a 50/50 fight.

True indeed we do in fact know how Boxing works, and Im willing to bet that they ride Cotto's momentum and pick a suitable opponent for a title defense. Cotto did more than beat Delvin to get the shot my good man, he was competitive against Floyd in a major way. Lara's platform to greatness rests on Cotto's shoulders IMHO.
