    Cotto is THE MAN

I'm just getting over a vicious hangover from my fight party last night. Otherwise, I would've been on much earlier to have my bite of crow and congratulate Miguel Cotto and his fans, especially El Angel and Golovkin (who won a 2:1 bet with me on 500 trilli -- paid BTW).

I was stunned to see Martinez go down three times in the first round, and I don't think I recovered any better than Sergio did. It was literally nightmarish. lol "Maravilla" is one of my favorite fighters. I honestly expected him to win if he came in 100%, or close to it. I don't know what others are saying about the fight, I have very little energy right now to go through all the comments, but Miguel deserves full credit for that fantastic performance. In my opinion, he now has to be considered one of the greatest Puerto Rican boxers of all time.

Enjoy the victory, Boricuas and serious Cotto fans!

I dont put much weight into his victory over Martinez, it was obvious that Martinez is shop worn beyond belief but its the fight game and they knew what they were getting into so Martinez putting his handicap ass on the line is no fault but his own.

I do noticed this new version of cotto under Roach tutelage seems to be the best version of cotto we have seen in years however imo we dont know what he can do yet as he hasnt fought a legit oppenent yet in my eyes (Rodriquez who?, Martinez was disabled). So be interesting to see what comes next.

It was a combination of factors. I couldn't make a pick on this one; too many variables. Martinez is definitely fading pretty quickly but Cotto at the same time has had a bit of a rebirth. Seems like he just needed a fresh take on things and Roach has done a tremendous job with him. Two of my favorite fighters - especially Martinez - and a fantastic performance from Cotto while being a fairly sad night for Maravilla.

BOW DOWN TO THE KING!! Jk.. maybe...

Today you have shown that you are a true class act and I regret thinking differently through the buildup of the fight so you won't get anything but respect from me.

I think a lot of people were surprised by what they saw last night, this is Miguel Cotto at his finest at the late stage of his career. Not many expected to see what they saw last night. Truly impressive to watch.

I always knew Cotto was capable of being this type of fighter but I wondered when he'd be able to put it all together and with Roach he finally did. The conditioning coach also did a tremendous job with Cotto with moving him up in weight effectively.

It's just a great team with a great fighter who is willing to listen, learn and execute instructions. Many wonder what would have happened if these two would have paired sooner but I believe that it was because of all Cotto has gone thru that he's acquired the maturity that has allowed him to reach his full potential as a fighter.

It was an awesome night for me personally, one of my best memories as a boxing fan... I was screaming like a true psycho through the entire first round lol. Last night was a great example of why I love this sport.

I gotta see one more fight where Cotto fights a legitimate unhurt top fighter and beats him before I say he is the man. I like Cotto and Martinez, too.
