I still don't see how a semi-competent person watched Floyd-Chino and had Maidana being effective at anything except missing punches, wrestling, and fouling. On the other hand. Cotto mixed in the rough housing with a good jab and actually landed clean punches.

Maidana landed plenty of clean punches but most fans (like most judges) ignore power shots to the body and just pay attention to head-hunting.
