If you don't believe he can box, fine. For the sake of argument we'll act as if he can't and disregard his pedigree...

GGG has been molded into a 'seek and destroy' style for the pros. That's why he doesn't "box."

As impressive as Cotto was last night, I don't think we found out much of anything about his punch resistance at 160. I trust GGG's chin more at middleweight than I do Cotto's.

Of course nothing I said was a certainty, but in my opinion I think the match up is just awful for Cotto. And like I said, I don't see it ever happening so I'm not sure we'll have to worry about it

I think it's a tough, tough fight but I'm sure Miguel and Freddie can come up with a good strategy to beat Golovkin. I won't be surprised if Miguel ends up as a 2-1 underdog again (or even more), like last night. Sure GGG has power and can box, but in terms of ring generalship and experience, Cotto has the edge.

Cotto if he doesn't get put to sleep, will get a beatdown from GGG and Cotto is my favorite fighter. Martinez never had a good chin and he had been down 3 fights in a row, GGG while never facing really top tier competition, has never shown to be badly hurt and I've never seen him on the canvas. He also would just pressure Cotto, who would eventually tire out and just... it'd be a non-bricked version of the first fight with Margarito.

        Mayweather -- Canelo retire.

I kind of hope they fight now so I can bump this later

It depends how much cotto believes in himself. If his balls really are as massive as they appear and he really does believe he is the best middleweight in the world then he should fight GGG. If he wins it will be huge for his legacy and he'll have the canelo fight with a great split after that, or a big money floyd rematch with a bigger chunk of the cash.

If he doesn't truly believe he is the best middleweight in the world he should go back down to 154 or cash in now and fight canelo(if he wins) and then go back down to 154.

So basically what does Miguel believe?

Well said, no doubt and no bs, well said. And I may agree with you on the chin at 160, no doubt. And you are right about the "seek and destroy" style, that style has been around for years and that is what Cotto had until the first Margarito fight, I know it well....hurt them and you can control, makes complete sense and I love that style...I would love to see Cotto vs. GGG cause it is the same type of style but with some boxing mixed in by Cotto....I do get the pedigree, but you can't have a one track mind going up against seasoned "boxers" or you will get picked apart....but, with GGG's power, anything can happen, no doubt

I could realistically see Cotto beating Sergio, but as for 3G? That's just asking for trouble. Sergio used to fight at WW, while 3G has only fought at MW and he's stopping guys left and right. Anyone think Cotto is gonna pressure GGG the same way he was pressing Sergio? I doubt it. Roach has him fighting like a bully again, but that will just get him flattened.

Lulz When Golovkin beat up Chavez in sparring you can see Roach in his corner on the video. More lies.

I thought it was generally accepted that if Maravilla was put in a ring with GGG he would get steam rolled. Even Lou Dibella said he wouldn't put Serge into a ring with an "animal" like Golovkin, yet he sticks him in with Cotto.

Pick an appropriate quote and let's roll, baby! Cotto has big brass ones and if he chooses Golovkin as his next dance partner, sign me up.

On the other hand, if this was a one off at mw and he goes back to jmw to fight Canelo or Lara or Floyd, I can respect that as well.

                      War Cotto!!
