Actually, no it wasn't. If you didn't turn the fight off after four rounds you'd know that Sergio wasn't hobbling on "one leg." He had perfectly good use of both and was moving fine. You'd also know that the part of him asking for ice on his knees was mistranslated according to Lampley and that he was actually asking for ice on his neck.

At no point in time did Martinez appear to be f'n crippled, otherwise that fight wouldn't have lasted 30 seconds, let alone 9 rounds. His knee may not have been 100% but he was most certainly not f'n crippled. He certainly wouldn't have been moving the way he did which prompted Roach to tell Cotto to repeatedly cut off the ring instead of following him.

martinez didn't ask for ice on his knees. he was asking for ice on the "nape" of his neck. lampley thought he was saying knees, but the translator was saying "nape."


he wanted ice on his head because of the punches he was taking.

that fight wasn't boring. it was sad to see a once terrific fighter being beat up, but it wasn't boring.
