Cotto has some serious options right now that's for sure
What options out there is bigger then a Mayweather fight?

not convinced he makes a whole lot more in a mayweather fight ... maidana only got 1.5m after all.

If he goes 50/50 with canelo he could make similiar money or not far off what floyd would offer.

Does Showtime throw money at Arum & Cotto to make Cotto-Mayweather II for the 160lb title?

My guess is this is Floyd's next fight, I'd be surprised if Arum hasn't received a phonecall from Ellerbe, I'd say this fight does at least 1.5m buys

Floyd will never work with Arum. Also Cotto does not have a multi-fight deal with Arum,Cotto is free to work with any promoter. The only way Cotto vs Mayweather 2 happens this year is if both of them can agree to a date this year.Mayweather wants to fight in September,September may be too early for Cotto,so maybe Floyd would be willing to push the fight back to October or November or Maybe even December. If not then we are not gonna see Floyd VS Cotto this year.

I think theirs a good chance FLoyd vs Cotto Happens this year though, because FLoyd has no other big money fights available this year,And the chance of winning a title in a 6th weight class is gonna likely interest Floyd.

Maidana has no fan base that is why he got 1.5 million dollars.Floyd is not ****** enough to offer Cotto chump change because he knows Cotto`s worth.Cotto got 8 million and a cut of the PPV in the Floyd fight. In a rematch Cotto would likely get more.

I don't think you can call Cotto a paper champion to be fair.

Lol, this ain't happening in september. No time to negotiate and plan a fight that big... also Cotto will make more demands that I doubt Mayweather will bow

No, I don't think so. Even his own dad Floyd Mayweather Sr has his misgivings about it. He said he would advise his son not to fight above 160 because he was too small and that he could still make a 140 lbs if he he wanted to. In addition, he stated that the guys a 160 were too big for him anyhow

However, who knows? For the right amount of stipulations with a catch weight being among them, then I'm pretty sure that Team Mayweather would at least consider the offer. After all, he is already the current champion and WBC titleholder in at least two other weight classes at 147 and 154.

So I wonder why would he need a third one? That would definitely put him on the fast track to a potential bout with Gennady Golovkin and the cries for that matchup; Especially if he defeats Cotto again would only grow louder. I agree with his dad that he should stick to fighting guys closer to his own size.
