I was wondering/thinking the same thing last night after the fight.

To me Cotto surpasses them but I guess it would be more fair to judge after he hangs them up too.

I think both men have the ability to stop Cotto or at the least hurt him very bad at all those weights.

Has he surpassed their legacies? No.

He may surpass Tito if he defends his title at 160 against a legit 160 pounder, nay of GGG, Quillin or Soliman.

      Soliman is the best bet.

tito would ko miguel. tito has power that is wrong for cotto.

cotto would outbox oscar considering oscar always loses his big fights.

Last nights Cotto looked better than any Tito I can recall, in my opinion anyways.

Tito could crack but Miguel can box and crack.

Tito would have ended serg in 1....

Tito is a very good boxer, cotto probably a little better, but the tito that fought reid, joppy, vargas, mayorga would have detonated cotto at some point...

Tito would put on great pressure like margs did, but has good boxing skills and great power...

Would Cotto have given hell to Tito and Oscar at any weight? (147 thru 160)?

Great display tonight by the new Middleweight Champ!
Wait a minute. Are you insinuating that beating Sergio Martinez is comparable to what Tito and Oscar did in the sport? What exactly makes Martinez a great fighter?

Yeah, against a shot and handicapped Martinez. Tito would have brutally finished that version of Sergio in a few rounds.

                    No........

No. Absolutely not. Oscar and Tito's place in history are higher at this moment. If Cotto takes out another fighter he shouldn't, then we can debate further. Cotto's win last night put him ahead of Mayweather, though.

The thing is that cotto has never been THE CHAMP in any division until he beat serg

                      140- tsyzu, hatton
                      147- floyd, margs, shane
                      154- floyd, canelo

He beat an old serg for the MW title,, had he fought the hopkins that tito and oscar had to cotto would have been beaten down..

Cotto is a great fighter, but i have watched all 3 from the amateurs to the end of their careers and oscar and tito are better
