I really think he was there for more of a payday, he showed a lot of class and heart by staying in there. He didn't want to quit. One thing by seeing his fights, he considers himself a true sportsman, and there was no quit in him.

        Yes.

I really hope B-Hops successes at age 49 doesn't make Martinez think otherwise.

I'm so demoralized right now. I have never, ever, seen a performance like that from Cotto before. I hate to say it but Sergio should think about hanging them up, he looked slow and off-balance. Props to Cotto..............I'll say this with 10000% honesty. I have no doubt that the Cotto from tonight destroys Mayweather. That performance was so precise from beginning to end, no fading, no signs of being hurt, hurting the much larger opponent. That display was scary.....one of the best I think I have ever seen.

He should go to Germany and get the "knee treatment" that Kobe got a few years ago.

In all honesty, he wanted one more fight in Argentina. I think it would be a nice tribute for him to go out with a W in his native country.

I called Martinez a cripple before Cotto put hands on him, I see more are calling him that now

He definitely needs to retire, he had a great run near the end of a career that was spent mostly in obscurity. A two weight world champion and lineal champ at middleweight, he can no longer do himself justice in the ring. If a fighter cannot do roadwork or spar due to concern about injuries, it's time to call it a career.

Just thank god he was only in there with cotto and not Golovkin, GGG could have caused serious lasting damage.

I don't know if the guy's knees can take him outside to get the mail out the letterbox. His boxing days are well and truly finished.

No. Sergio is not shot and he may or may not have bad knees the point is even the prime Sergio would have had trouble with that Cotto just because of the style and power Cotto brought. Bad knee doesnt = bad chin. The guy just could not take Cotto's best punches and it showed. He moved well the entire fight the problem was Cotto was able to cut the ring and meet him every step.

Cotto was slowing down, you failed to notice it, luckily for him landing the big shots easily and preventing Martinez from getting off helped him that much more. Cotto defended well, got low, turned Martinez as I expected.
