First the media could care less about the Kiltchskos...no one does...no one cares about heavyweights until we actually get some talent there. Second, before this fight Martinez WAS top 5 p4p, and there really isn't an argument for him not to be. Third, Mayweather is the best at shoulder rolling, counter-punching, speed, elbowing with a purpose, knowing when to move, and just generally being THE BEST BOXER IN THE FIGHT GAME....don't simply hate and dislike things cause you wish they were another way, enjoy the sport and quit throwing salt on it.

I think Floyd leaps at the opportunity to fight Cotto. Floyd is very aware of boxing history and his place in it is something that's on his mind. Hence, the TBE campaign. And he knows most of the ATG welterweight fought for the middleweight strap at some point. And I'm sure he's kicking himself in the ass this morning for not fighting Martinez instead of Maidana last month. But Cotto offers a shot at the legitimate middleweight title. Its a fight he would be favored in. And outside of Manny, its the biggest paying fight out there. Only thing now is that even as a FA, Cotto is wanting to work with Arum. And now that GBP has split and Oscar is working with Arum. Cotto has some leverage because he can make a pile of money with Canelo. I know one thing. Floyd should be rooting like hell for Lara next month.

I like the argument, it does make sense, no doubt about it. I just don't see him using Cotto to get it. I could see him doing it with someone else, but why take the chance against someone you know has a chance and you have already beaten? I definitely get your point though, and I would be all for it!!

Today cotto proved he still has something in him and looked good, but then again it was against a washed up sergio I would like to see him do that to canelo vs lara winner or hell any solid 154 pounder or 160 where he is the champion now th3n we could actually say damn cotto is really that good. I read your post, and I know you never said that, but I will go ahead and say it, he is a great fighter. He has balls, knows how to box, and won't quit....In my mind that is a great fighter...now the guy that responded to your post was just looking to try and be smart and point out facts that everyone knows to try and prove you wrong even though he was making the wrong argument for you comment....he was wrong about the washed up BS that everyone is spewing though....but anyway....seems to be a common theme around here....I did appreciate your post though, no joke, no bs, it made sense!
