  • Comments Thread For: Chad Dawson To Return on Guerrero-Kamegai Card

Looks like former world champion Chad Dawson (31-4, 17KOs) will fight at the Stubhub Center in Carson, CA on June 21st, a source told BoxingScene.com late Friday night. The bout will likely be the main event on the Showtime Extreme telecast. The card will be headlined by a Robert Guerrero vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai welterweight collision.

This truly is a card filled with fighters no boxing fans give a **** about.

WTF is Showtime paying for these days?

I wanted to see Dawson get fed to Kovalev. But oh well...

The only decent fight on the card is Loma vs. Russell. Alexander vs. Soto Karass is a fight to keep Alexander relevant and he should win easily. Kamegai vs. Guerrero, I couldn't care less about.

I would love to see Kovalev knock Dawson out and retire him.

I have no issues whatsoever with this card. All fights can't be the most fan- anticipated mega fights. And this one will have some surprises. It would be interesting if Alexander gets penalized for his grab-athon b.s., and Soto-Karass stops him. And maybe Loma can force Russell to be less boring. But anyway, it will be good to see Chad back again. Hopefully Haymon is talking some common sense to the guy. He has way too much potential to be making the biz mistakes he makes.

Best of luck to Dawson. It's been a loooong time since he looked impressive, and considering his last two fights you have to start worrying about him hanging on and getting hurt. Give him something easy, see how he looks.

For the record, Dawson has only lost three fights (Pascal, Ward, Stevenson).

In my view, this is a stacked card and only the haters can dislike. The Russell/Lomo fight should be great.... Alexander/Soto will be entertaining at lest most.... but Dawson in my eyes has always been a good fighter but too big of a mouth. Should be a good weekend!!!
