There is a difference between "not letting your hands go" and "not being able to time a guy". Sergio was too slick until he got fancy and Julio made him pay dearly. I agree that Cotto is on another level of Julio. But then you have to make up for all the intangibles. Sergio is elite also. And he also enjoys the advantage in height, reach, speed, power, chin, and accustomed to the weight. Its gonna be interesting to see how Cotto's left hook is gonna impact this fight... Chavez ain't no great fighter but one thing he does have is a great chin and a fighter that keeps coming. Cotto on the other hand tires to quick and as soon as he feels the hard punches he starts to coward. That is the difference why chavez was able to land those punches.

Also not forget that chavez was the bigger guy on the fight. Cotto is small fighter that can't bully martinez. I really don't see any way cotto can beat martinez unless martinez gets old overnight and his knee injury comes back. Martinez by ko tko or by roach throwing in the towel

You must've misunderstood my post. I never said Cotto was tougher than Chavez. He is on another level as a boxer. Cotto can set up crisp combination punches and often times gets off first in exchanges. He is a very underrated "boxer" and many confuse him as just a brawler. He is both a puncher and boxer. Cotto put on a boxing clinic against Mosley... but then again laid an egg against Trout. For those who don't know, Trout was also a tall, awkward South Paw. It'll have alot to do with which Cotto shows up which fortunately for us is very unpredictable which makes for great drama. Chavez looked like a toddler lost at Walmart against Sergio until that punch came. Chavez was confused and couldn't adjust to the lefty, spontaneous, slick unorthodox style of Sergio. But make no mistake... Chavez doesn't have the experience or championship pedigree of Cotto... he is really a name (dad)that outweighs his opposition on fight night for an advantage. The more and more I envision the fight, the worse it looks for Cotto. Sergio is a killer.

I would love to see Cotto win. He can make history by winning a fourth division belt and I think that would make him one of the best PR fighters in history. He could not beat Mayweather or Pac but he is a great fighter.
