It wasn't the same thing. However both cases were illegal. Trinidad happened to do it in a state that favored him while Margs, the hypocrisy of Arnold and his witch hunt.

This was talked about in the Joppy thread. First of all, the way Tito got his hands wrapped does not give you more punching power. Tito's situation was like if I were to teach a college class and required my students to take their exams using pen and one student decided to use a pencil. Yea it was illegal/wrong to use the pencil on the exam but it wasn't cheating. Margarita's was like if that kid took his entire exam open book. Two totally different events.

Pro trini's focus on the tape on knuckle and not the excessive tape that was illegal any where in the U.s. That was the real issue B. Fish had and it was a legit one....gave tito an unfair advantage. Both illegal, but Margarito was more malicious, never should have been allowed back in a ring. Tito Sr probably should have been suspended for a year.
In football one lineman was holding, the other was chop blocking. Both illegal, but totally different consequences.

The California State Athletic Commission found that the material used when combined with oxygen formed Plaster of Paris. The main trainer lost his license and has since said he was hurt by the silence of the fighter and manager, and to most individuals when you look guilty when you won't support the man who took you to where you are at.... Margarito has looked guilty, acted guilty and was guitly.
