his power is legit. so is his size. he's a huge welterweight. you don't fake being able to send somebody's head flying around, or knocking them all but unconscious.

i worry about peds with porter, personally. he never showed great snap in the past. he's a good athlete, so it's possible that he's improved his technique and learned to explode through targets, but you doubt it at his age.
Brook is a pretty big WW himself tho. Im picking Brook cause I'm a fan but not real confident about it tho.

Im glad you also see the light. Porter is one of the most suspect fighters out there.

Didn't think religious fanatics did roids -- Though I wouldn't be surprised.

he's acted as both a manager and promoter in the past, but he can't explicitly set up a promotional entity if he's explicitly managing these fighters.

we don't know how he operates. i'm led to believe that he's not officially the "manager" of these fighters, and instead acts as an "advisor." in the past, he's acted on behalf of the fighter to get favorable deals with TV networks. that's really not what managers do, and is more similar to promoting.

we will start to learn more about what he does, and what he's done in the past, if he starts to move toward becoming a promotor.

boxing is a shady, shady business.
Very shady, indeed. A lot of what has been happening in the last year is starting to make sense.
With Porter not having a contract with GBP, I wonder how this event will be setup. They seem to have a date and venue in place. Surely Showtime will televise, but who will promote the show?

paulie isn't a great fighter, and he's aged, but nobody has done that to him. he knows how to survive, take big punches away.

he's only 33, and has less than 40 fights, IIRC. he definitely took damage along the way, but he's not some ancient, totally shot fighter. his career was in the midst of a decent little renaissance. his style didn't see him taking a beating in every fight. hatton beat him up, cotto broke his face early on, but he finished the fight. khan also beat him up.

porter f#cking knocked him unconscious. he was hurting him with every shot. there's a candid interview with paulie where he talks about porters' power. he says he's the best puncher he ever faced. i'm not saying porter neccessarily hits harder than cotto, but it's definitely worth taking into consideration that paulie says he hit so hard.

Brook should request USADA testing for this bout or no fight.

they're probably all juiced to the gills. PEDs have come a long way. they dont' all make you big any longer.

the basic one is increasing your red cell count. more red cells = better gas tank. testosterone does this, as do many of the other hormones.

i'd be on the f#cking big boy gas if i were a pro athlete. the tests are a joke, and you get f#cking paid if you're good.

Interesting, looks like Conte got him on the gear.

But Paulie is known for making silly statements to save face and enhance his image.

Porter is really a junior middleweight. That's why he looks so strong and is putting a hurting on these smaller welterweights.

What are the odds that Brook gets injured in training and has to pull out of the fight?

brook is suspect himself. there are pictures out there where he has a very obvious "bodybuilder" type build. very vascular, tight / dry skin, built up muscles, not really a boxers' build.

if these fighters were clean they'd all love testing. they'd mandate it. they aren't, so they don't.
