I agree. But it's not about trying to force HBO to give into higher demands. Instead, it's more a game of the highest bidder wins. Whoever ponies up the most money wins. And yes, that is why HBO got out of that bidding game, a game. But the core reason they got out of the game though was because they lost Floyd Mayweather. That was a huge deal breaker. HBO even got rid of Larry Merchant immediately after that.

It wasn't just Mayweather.

The HBO/GBP deal had ended by then and Greenbirg was out at HBO.

Both networks made changes...HBO brought in Hershman and SHO Espinoza ...the landscape had changed prior to the Mayweather/SHO deal and tje movement of some of the GBP stable to SHO had already been going on.
