Oh. Um. Yeah. Alright Teddy. I like your excitement?
    YES!!

That guy drives me up the wall, absolutely hate his commentary and I'm not much a fan of his pre-fight assessments...

He will always favour the promotional prospect as well

In a kitchy so-bad-its-great sort of way I love Atlas. Like a movie so bad you have a great time ripping on it with friends. That and I feel he's at least being earnest with his passion, you know?

"When you go to the swimming pool you expect to get wet, so you gotta bring a towel. If you forget your towel you're gonna have a hard time getting DRY....and right now I think (INSERT FIGHTER) is having a hard time finding his towel here..."

          Classic confabulation.
          He clearly said re-sig-er-ent

I didn't mishear him...watched it a few times lol. Later on in the round he actually said "resilient"

Well I guess I should just be happy that when you've gone to sleep in the ring as much as Roy has, that you can still use the word resilient....even if you only run a 25% success rate.

Which I clearly stated in my post..

I just got around to watching the Luis Rosa-Luis Del Valle fight from this past weekend.

Roy Jones was calling the fight, and was going on & on describing how Del Valle was able to absorb lots of punishment & always come back fighting hard in his fight against Darchinyan. He would explain how he expected nothing less from Del Valle in this fight, because he proved to be "resigerent" ....? He made up his own word. The word he was looking for: resilient ...

My goodness. This reminded me of when he didn't know the different between compassion & passion during the Pacquiao-Bradley broadcast...Jim Lampley had to explain the difference to him the same way I would have to explain the difference to my niece that is in third grade.

I respect Roy Jones as a boxer, and look at his ring accomplishments with profound admiration, but I'm really not impressed with his work as an announcer. He never really says anything very insightful, and constantly displays an immense lack of vocabulary. Obviously, I wouldn't necessarily expect much sophistication coming from him, because he is there for his boxing insight, but he fails to impress me in that regard as well. I'm much more impressed with Paulie Malignaggi's work as an announcer. I would even say that Andre Ward does a much better job than him.

Roy isn't as bad as Lennox Lewis was (my goodness), but he is pretty bad...
In a post that is making fun of some one's grammar, punctuality or vocabulary, that post should be flawless, with no mistakes in it whatsoever. Unlike your post where you don't know when to use different and difference.

It really doesn't matter when it comes down to it. He is a boxer, and was the best of his gereation. No need to be an english major when you are a millionaire by the time you are 22. If Hbo is okay with the commentary, then so be it.

he took punches to the head for a living. speech problems will manifest in his old age. that's just how it works, man.

your avatar seems to show that you are a boxer. if you box long enough, and at a high enough level, you'll probably end up sounding the same way.
