Comments Thread For: Jose Felix Jr. Plans August Return, Targets Title at 135

Jose Felix Jr. (26-1-1) last appeared in the ring on April 13th when he suffered his first career defeat against WBA interim lightweight champion Bryan Vasquez of Costa Rica. The fight took place on the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley pay-per-view undercard in Las Vegas.

Felix has struggled to make the 130 pound super featherweight limit for quite some time and said that he is surprised that he was able to finish the fight. He didn't want to make excuses but said that he felt sick to his stomach and that he didn't have his legs under him.

I saw Felix fight twice before getting Vazques and yes in the last fight he looked tired, confused and not doing much an effort especially after the 7th round. It was a clear indication that moving to the next division is the right thing to do.

My comment was more on the part of the LW champions being really tough guys to beat.

A move up would do him well, he's way too big for 130. He's only 22 years old, he should take a couple tune ups to settle into 135 before taking another big fight. I think he could make some noise at lightweight in 2015, he'll i'd pick him over Figueroa right now
