Haymon wrecked his relationship with HBO. There's an interview with Hershman on Sports Illustrated where he spells out their reasons for not working with Haymon, without ever actually mentioning him by name.
HBO were burnt by the whole Berto experience and similar adventures with Al in the recent past. Haymon wants to play the networks off against each other in order to maximise paydays, which is understandable. But similarly, HBO want more security when they invest big money in a fighter.
If Oscar works with HBO then HBO won't have any good reason to change course. Long term, you'd have to hope that Haymon and HBO will find a project to work on that will make them both money. These barriers will have to break down eventually.Comment

Haymon is aligned with Mayweather, and Showtime has a big deal going with The guy. They even showcase Mayweather promotions fighters. My thinking is if Haymon brings other fighters into the Mayweather Promotions fold, and Shaefer gets put in as the CEO.... Showtime will continue to play ball.Comment

That's the number one advantage of signing to Haymon, is to get TV dates. He has great relations with Showtime. He just had a fighter from Canada with Canadian promoter headline a Showtime show.
The alliance between Schaefer, Haymon and Espinoza is strongComment

Right.
HBO gave Haymon the boot last year, Golden Boy has the bulk of Showtime dates. Schaefer will be on the sidelines for a long stretch. Floyd doesn't have a promoters' license.
But I'm sure it'll all work out magically for the Haymon fighters with no promoters or fight dates.
