Bro, honestly...are you serious with this? That fight was never, ever, in question. Cotto was more competitive than anyone had been in a while versus Mayweather, but he never threatened to win that fight. No way.

        Story of the fight:
The first 8 rounds were actually pretty competitive (PBF 5-3 or 4-4 ) w/Cotto crushing Floyd's nose and probably having his best round in the 8th, but Cotto faded from then on and Mayweather swept the last 4 rounds.

This fight could be similar in that Cotto could fade late and allow Martinez to stop him or sweep the last few rounds.

Since 2003 Martinez has recorded 8 K.O.'s (opponent down for the ten count not TKO or RTD) to Cotto's 3.

Sergio (the bigger fighter) is a power puncher and he is definitely the puncher in this fight.
So what since you are looking on box rec why dont you tell me out of those wins whos a credible fighter and who is a countryman? Only high profile wins on his record is williams pavlik and chavez jr, the rest are not all known by casual fans!! Cotto has 32 k.o.s, and has fought better competition....i thought you guys would have learned something from the garcia vs mathysse and broner vs maidana fight!!

Cotto will find out if he tries to exchange with him.

I do believe I used the word "competitive" in my original post. I don't recall ever having Cotto up, nor do I recall feeling like, "Oh, oh, Floyd is in trouble." You saw it a little differently, which is cool, but your final score says it all.

As for Cotto "crushing" Mayweather's nose, I don't consider a bloody nose "crushed" unless there's a fracture or a break. Was Floyd's nose broken?

Sergio has excellent timing and puts great leverage on his punches while Cotto leaves himself wide open to counters with his looping punches that he loads up on. Martinez' jab and right hook are going to cause Cotto big problems, especially the jab.

And we use the term "top opponent" for Foreman very, very loosely. Yuri was a weak champ, and a badly injured weak champ at that. I'm beginning to see a pattern of targeting perceived weakness at the higher weights here. lol

Manny tko'd him and trout clearly out boxed him. So he lost to 2 southpaws. Only fan boys think he won the trout fight. Come Saturday he'll get brutally tko'd by one more southpaw.
