It' really quite amazing how overrated Cotto has become on this forum. He's being propped up as this murderous, highly skilled, middleweight pressure fighter. People act like he's borderline unbeatable. Reality is, Cotto hasn't beaten a top opponent in years. He's shown little power at 154 and is now moving up to 160. He's certainly not a defensive master like his fans portray him. He was badly beaten up by Pacquiao and clearly outboxed and outmuscled by Austin Trout. Cotto is fighting the biggest, strongest, hardest punching opponent of his career, who happens to be a southpaw. Cotto was decisively beaten by the last two southpaws he's faced. Cotto is also up against a highly skilled, extremely quick boxer. I just don't see how Cotto is a threat to Martinez.

who has cotto knocked out? didnt ko mosley, or margarito, couldnt pac or mayweather, stopped foreman due to his leg, stopped a bum jennings, a bum delvin. most of his kos are bums as well.

how do you know cotto puts in more? did both cotto or martinez punch you in the face?

martinez has knocked outway bigger guys then cotto, thats how he is the bigger puncher. williams had chicken legs after martinex knocked him out. i can tell your new to boxing and havent seen much of martine but will claim you have seen ALL his fights.

You have to go by percentages, and you have to by who has better technique.

Who has the most KO's or TKO's against top level competition? When a guy is coming up in the ranks those KO % stats skew what they do at elite level.

Cotto may have the better technique but he is also the naturally smaller man. That means something when it comes to power even if you consider technique. An average puncher at 160 punches harder than the most powerful punchers at 147.

All i can say is that martinez is gonna get hit by the hardest puncher he has ever fought, and cotto may be fighting the hardest puncher he has ever fought! We will see in 2 days what the injury prone martinez can do!
