He's certainly not a defensive master like his fans portray him. He was badly beaten up by Pacquiao and clearly outboxed and outmuscled by Austin Trout. Cotto is fighting the biggest, strongest, hardest punching opponent of his career, who happens to be a southpaw. Cotto was decisively beaten by the last two southpaws he's faced. Cotto is also up against a highly skilled, extremely quick boxer. I just don't see how Cotto is a threat to Martinez.
Lil power at 54??? Okay so why does he have 4 knockouts in his 6 fights at jr.middleweight?

The most logical, unbiased post in this thread.

Mayorga was a washed up bum.
          Foreman was a gimp(and a bum).
Margaritos' eye was already ****ed up. Got tagged to a TKO.
And Delvin, well..really? Are you really giving him props for that?

People don't like to talk about how he ducked Canelo but anyone who follows the sport and doesn't have 20 posters on their wall of him know what's up. Can't wait for the GIF's!

how do you know cotto puts in more? did both cotto or martinez punch you in the face?

martinez has knocked outway bigger guys then cotto, thats how he is the bigger puncher. williams had chicken legs after martinex knocked him out. i can tell your new to boxing and havent seen much of martine but will claim you have seen ALL his fights.
Dude you are dumb... mosley has NEVER been ko'd. Just by you saying that you are showing how little you know. Go back to your moms basement.

Cotto may have the better technique but he is also the naturally smaller man. That means something when it comes to power even if you consider technique. An average puncher at 160 punches harder than the most powerful punchers at 147.

I highly doubt Cotto is the hardest puncher a guy at Middleweight has ever fought. Get outta here with that. Kelly Pavlik says hello.

You and many other PRs are counting on Sergio to fall apart. Stop. Cotto has NEVER fought a guy like Sergio. However Sergio has fought punchers WAY more solid than Cotto, who was good but is no longer. Pac totally destroyed him and Trout showed why Cotto has absolutely NO business at MW. Come on man, you sound like a stalker. Cotto will flame out after 3 and then be in survival mode.
Ill try... Combining the past 6 fights of the opponents that each fighter martinez and cotto have faced when they fought, you get this... The only undefeated fighters that martinez has faced are(showing their record at fight time): Gabriel Leonidas Leiva 3-0, Ignacio Ramon Caceres 5-0-2, Frank Oppong 6-0-1. Carlos Quintana 23-0-0.
Sergio Martinez, Rounds boxed-391 ko% 50.91... Total opponents fought that has 50% ratio loss or more- 11...
