Maybe they reserved it a while back for Floyd BUT... that doesn't mean they can't keep the date just to **** with him. Not sure if they can do that tho?

Who cares? GB has other fighters. If you're Oscar you wanna make this as lengthy and painful for them as you can. And who knows, in the end you might even be able to get some fighters.

Think about it, if the fighters are frozen who does Mayweather fight in September? Who promotes the show?

I suspect that there is plenty of fighters that has signed with Haymon and, courtesy of Schaefer, is out of a contract with GBP. That would be the battlefield. If Schaefer as CEO of GBP did not act in the best interest of the company he was leading, those fighters would likely not be able to fight during a lawsuit.

Mayweather should be ok. With the kind of money he generates, there's always a way.

Why do you need Arum when Haymon has all these fighters like Broner, Thurman, Matthysse, Guerrero, Berto, Garcia, Khan, Maidana, Porter, Alexander... All Haymon has to do is let them fight each other and stop over protecting them. Broner vs Matthysse would be good. Maidana vs Garcia, Thurman can start with Porter, Garcia vs Matthysse, Khan vs Broner, Berto vs Porter... There are tens of combinations Haymon can make, but why are these fights not happening? Does he need Arum in this case?

If true, my hope is it will be fighters like Khan, Matthysse and Maidana. If he could throw Thurman in too, that would be good (but he won't because that's the next star).

I seriously doubt if there is any truth to this. Any fighter who is not signed to GBP can sign a contract. Haymon doesn't have to cancel his advisory contract for this. Also, I seriouly doubt if the non-compete clause is still in effect. It it is, it is non-enforceable.

I thought floyd had that date, then TR complained to the Nevada commission and they rescinded and then GBP got it again, presumably for Canelo v Cotto/Martinez winner if he beats Lara or Canelo v Cotto should both lose their next fight.

Why wouldn't it be enforceable? De La Hoya has one of the best lawyers out. You're saying there is a loophole in one of the agreements he wrote up?

Plus think about this for a second. Schaefer holds a large block of shares at GBP. He can vote. So you're telling me he can drive across the street and start up another company? He can use his voting powers at GBP to destroy the company for the benefit of his other business.

This is the perfect example of why a non-compete HAS to be enforceable. If one exists of course.
